Why so much uncertainty, fear and lack of self confidence?

Can you not see now why athesits are so confident and happy? They know the truth and live in reality!

Academia states that in the absence of proof of the existence of something it must be deemed not to exist until verifiable proof is found - thus god is held not to exist pending some sort of verifiable evidence.

The bible is what is called "Faction" A fictional story set in a factual time and place. Thus the time, place and real historical characters are all correct but the fictional characters and stories are not!

There is not one single mention of Jesus in the entire Roman record - that is right - not one! At the same time as he was supposed to have been around there were a number of Jews claiming to be the messiah - all of whom are well recorded!

There is not a single contemporary record from any source and even the bible mentions of him like all other references were not written until many years after his supposed death!

He was supposed to have been a huge problem to the Romans and produced wonderful miracles but still not one contemporary record?

Pilate is recorded in the Roman record as a somewhat lack luster man but no mention of a Jesus, a trial or crucifixion that would surely have been used to make him look brighter!

At best he was an amalgam of those others but almost certainly never existed!

The Roman Emperor Constantine produced the bible and he was a pagan not god! He took the Jewish religion and basing it on the Mithras religion, organized it into Christianity and then into the Holly Roman Catholic Church!! Not in Israel or any of the countries of supposed origin but entirely ITALIAN!

Not one word of it is contemporary with the period and was not written until several hundred years after the period the story is set in!! How did the apostles write their books more than a hundred years after they would have been dead?

What a wonder full disinformation and deception campaign he waged against his Jewish enemies by turning them into his invented Christianity - so good in fact that Christians are still following the deception to this day!

The first person to provide a shred of verifiable evidence for God will become world famous and mega rich!! Ain't happened yet and it never will!

So how does this primitive belief survive? The answer is simple and very down to Earth

Atheists have the intellect to see through the conditioning and escape into the real world!

Agnostics have the intellect to see through the conditioning but lack the courage to throw of the conditioning entirely.

Sadly Christians are still held firmly prisoner by the self perpetuating brainwashing!

Atheism means non belief in any deities. That's it. What we do believe may vary from person to person. Some atheists may belive in aliens. Some may be buddhists. Some believe in ghosts. The only thing we have in common is that we don't believe in any gods. Therefore, we will all give different answers to your questions.

Not sure why we are here, but purpose depends on each individual honestly I think each person has to find their own purpose in life. After we die, most atheists believe that we die and that's it six feet under or cremated. Yes of course being good or bad matters you have to make a name for yourself and socially people want a good reputation. Our lives exist because everyone's parents decided to have sexual intercourse.

Killing yourself does matter because it impacts people around you, suicide is a clear indication of someone having depression or other unstable mental tendencies.

Childhood indoctrination isn't related to atheism due to the fact that each person is born an atheist. Religion is famend for taking capabilities of the venerable. Atheists do not waste time on superstitious nonsense, we could instead search treatment. Ignorance is consistently related to faith, as it's the devout who deny info and clinical proof. Atheists are open minded and consistently inclined to take delivery of new proof.

All atheism is is the lack of belief in any gods.

You're here because your parents had sex. It's up to you what to do with your life. What happens after life is the same thing as before life. Being good or bad matters because it affects others, society as a whole, and yourself. Life is no "accident" since that word means somebody tried for a different outcome. Those who are dead no longer exist. It's up to you whether to care for yourself, or indeed, kill yourself.

Individual atheists will have individual answers. Buddhists are atheists, as are pantheists, Taoists, and others. And there are many, many, many unaffiliated atheists. The only thing that they have in common is the lack of belief in a creator deity. If I ask you, as a theist, what your answer to hose HUGE questions were, could you quickly and easily sum them up? Would they be the same as other theists like Jews or Hindus?

Who says we're unhappy? I don't follow your question.. so if we have no purpose (which I think we all do) then we shouldn't bother living? And not everything life has to have a meaning.

And we're here because once upon a time, two people who may or may not have loved each other committed a sexual act and we know that that can lead to babies (which we were once).

You sound a bit emotional. What you need to do is set aside your emotions and look at the reality of things. Sure, the reality may be harsh but when you learn to accept it, it becomes beautiful. Asking myself these same questions was hard for me when I was borderline atheist/christian and I admit that I had some set backs where I ran back to christianity so I could feel better but believe me... understanding reality and the world we live in is far more fulfilling then living a life full of lies.
