I didn't send my dad fathers day cards because he just wasn't there for us like you he didn't help financially but the main thing was that he just didn't behave like a dad to us, he would go ages without calling and seeing us. When i was at school when people talked about making cards i just thought i didn't really have one. When he did finally make an effort to see me he then gave me lectures and tried to get me to change the way i dressed i just wanted to be accepted as i was. Parents are supposed to be there for moral support give you respect for who you are and scold you from time to time. Mums try to protect the kids and sometimes they do influence them with biast opinions but maybe you need to look at your relationship with them first and always always be civil to the mum keeping them happy can mean a lot for your access to them

A father is someone who cares for his family. If you are purchasing alcohol and things for yourself before giving the money to support your children, you are being selfish and uncaring. Your children have realized the man they call "dad" is spending more time with them, which is what matters to them. Try giving up a little of your spare time to spend with your children and watch how things change.
