Do you think it's a sign of insecurity in one's faith if....?

... if a person posts questions and then deletes them quickly so no one has the opportunity to voice opposing opinions?

Update:

I'm actually referring to a specific user who seems to have come upon this tactic. Looks like he may have stopped now. It's annoying when you take the time to answer and then someone deletes the question.

I've deleted a few questions in my time. A couple of times it was because I had linked to something I was outraged about only to realize it was satire (duh). The rest were because they were asked in multiple areas because YA had suggested a category and I accidentally agreed.

This is a heavily flamed and trolled forum and the user must beware. It actually helps build good debating skills to learn to brush off the ignorant or overly harsh responses. I've done my share. I expect the same in return.

Update 2:

The multiple account thing is a good sign of insecurity, so is the 'vote for myself constantly so I look more knowledgeable!' tactic. When I first started I voted for my own answers a few times because I thought that's the way the site worked and you got ( a lot of ) extra points for that. Then I realized it wasn't that important.

Perhaps some are just nervous new comers that don't expect the barrage of cruel taunts and remarks that come from some (i.e. claiming to be Christian, not acting like one), They may think twice about their privacy and withdraw or perhaps they may think other might feel they are stupid.

I suppose it is something that we just don't know and everyone has different circumstances which we will never understand which may relate to culture, up bringing, social status etc. I have deleted 1 out of all my activity as I only got 1 stupid response and I thought it was a waste of space if people weren't interested. I just posted a "find the hidden books of the bible" activity which I thought may be great for kids. I thought wrong

    It can be.

Another example is those who create multiple accounts and then use them to thumbs up their own answers and thumbs down the competition.

Now that's insecurity. And we have some of these right here in R&S right now.

Oh and by the way, this is unacceptable behavior according to the guidelines. So report responsibly when appropriate.

Insecurity in faith not really, im sure feeling like its pointless to try and help certain people sometimes yes. Ive deleted my answers because whats the point? if im responding to an ardent anti theist its going to get ten thumbs down and not even read.

It's even worse when they ignore a dozen well-written answers that refute the "question", and then give "Best Answer" to somebody who just posts "yes, praise jesus!"

Most people post questions here for attention, rather than knowledge.

  • Probably. Or they got reported for not using the right format.

Potentially. Everyone is insecure though, nobody can deny it. Everyone will at one time or another experience fear about their own beliefs. Be forgiving, not boastful.

No, it's the fear of being ridiculed and mocked by a bunch of keyboard-warriors.

    Maybe better judgement?

In reality, you can't rewind and take back what's been said...here you can.
