why is Jesus usually wearing red and blue when artists drew him?

I noticed recently that in many art works Jesus Christ in drawn wearing red and blue, is there a reason for this?

    Tradition. Somebody started it and the rest followed suit.

    People are more willing to pray to someone who wears primary colors.

    If Jesus was wearing pink and lavender, he'd have few followers.
