Christians, where does it say people go to Heaven if they are "saved"?
Where does the bible say that "saved" people will live in "heaven" as a reward? I cannot find this phrase. Paul claims that he knew someone that claimed to have gone to a heaven, since apparently there are many, but even Paul is unsure of the details or whether the guy really went to a heaven or dreamt it. So once again, where does the bible say that people will live in heaven if they are "saved" ? Also, keep in mind that the kingdom of heaven/kingdom of God refer to the state of being saved and to the future age where a jew of the lineage of david will reign as king in Israel, and not to a place as "God" isn't a place. I would just like a verse that says something along the lines of "saved people go to heaven".
To 100th Monkey, that verse clearly depicts the city as defending FROM heaven. It does not say that it will go back up to the sky after people board it
The places that the johannine Jesus refers to as building for them are the same city the descends from heaven in Rev, unless there are two cities in heaven, and only one comes down for some reason. Also, it is generally understood in Christianity that the "places" he goes to prepare, refer to the "glorified bodies" that people will get at resurrection. Also, the resurrection clearly takes place on earth, and not in space.
To Courtney: the first verse just mentions eternal life, it doesn't mention eternal life being in the sky or in heaven. The verse from psalms (dwell in the house of the lord) refers to the tabernacle (and then later, the Temple) and not to a spiritual place.

Christians are saved for hellfire rather than heaven as they usually commit sin and seek forgiveness not from God but a man.

What does it mean to be saved?
You've made "saved", "heaven", "God" all very mechanical and superficial. I personally don't like these words because they mask the 'emotions' that go along with the original language.
"sozo" is a Greek that refers to complete security, and according to the Bible this comes as a result of "believing" (again a word overly used that it's lost it's meaning). And this security comes through the relationship established with the Father through the sacrifice of Christ, as a result we have "eternal life" (in the original thought, "eternal life" leans more towards quality than quantity. Not just never-ending life, but a life that is much superior. We get involved in God's world and life.
Christ's death and resurrection offers us a life with God, not about "going to heaven" or "being rescued from hell", those maybe by-products.

The common verse John 3:16 is "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (depending on what version of the Bible you reference, wording can vary of course). Eternal life is mentioned without an exact destination, however in other verses there are many references to heaven and going there.
Psalm 23:6 reads "Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever."
Psalm 27:4 is "One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple."
Those are what I can remember off the top of my head, but maybe this will help you look for other verses: http://www.biblegateway.com/keyword/?search=

Joh 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
Joh 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
Joh 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
There are many more verses but this is my favorite.

As a Pagan, i detect this manner of situation to be unhappy and humorous on the comparable time. the finished time they are gossipping and claiming "righteous judgement" on all human beings Non-believers, they are doing issues which their very very own scripture tells them is incorrect... Gossip for one. To make exciting of alternative human beings in one among those way easily does not practice love of any form... different than per risk the affection of degrading different human beings. i assume that's the only way human beings like that can sense shelter of their very very own ideals, by using putting down others who're different. to decide an entire team of human beings per thought on my own is very stupid. i've got in no way stop understood why human beings try this aside from to stroke their ego's, lead them to sense stronger and optimistically earnings have faith of others who have self belief like they do. i assume it incredibly is a skill war, however specifically an inner one, besides the shown fact that it style of sounds like they'd finally end up empty and chilly with the bitterness and hate they practice in direction of people who're different.

SALVATION - WHAT REALLY MEANT FOR JESUS AND HIS APOSTLES? Christian theology teaches that Jesus Christ came to earth to save sinners. But: What does the Bible mean by the word "salvation"? What we should be saved, and for what? It is necessary to answer these questions as accurately as possible not to live in confusion. El Salvador in the Men's Bible tells us that there is one that saves men, and that is the Creator, God the Father. He says himself: "... and all flesh shall know that I the Lord am thy Saviour and Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob." (Isaiah 49:26). Now, Lord, Savior, so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. "(John 3:16,17). Salvation Damnation earlier in the biblical text, Jesus says he came to save the world from damnation or "destruction." But what made the world to deserve condemnation? Two verses later Jesus says, "This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil." (V.19). It is obvious that Christ came to save men who were in spiritual and acted lastinieblas bad things. Good account, Jesus came to save the ad or c pe is that they were, in fact, already condemned by God. Paul said later: "For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23). Yes, the gift of God is eternal life through Christ and his sacrifice for sinners. And is that the wages of sin esmuerte, and as all have sinned (Romans 3:9), then we are all doomed to death. But Jesus took our sins and paid-for us, dying on the cross of Calvary. His death gave us life, and canceled the outstanding debt that had to God. The only thing we have to do is accept the payment that Christ made for us and in return, serve him for life, as a symbol of gratitude. We éramosescl avos of sin, but Jesus hizolibres through his atoning sacrifice. Now you and all men have a new opportunity in order to justify before God and live as a new and holy men.
