Im doing a paper on lack philosophers, but google only tells me about "black philosophy professors" etc. I am looking for a black philosopher (ie someone that wrote a book on philosophy prior to the modern era. A black Descartes, a black Euclid etc). I am aware that they would be far and in between, but there cant possibly be literally zero. Thanks

(ps. I mean, a black-native-african philosopher, not a french philosopher that was speculated to be 1/8 black etc)

For the love of f***,how do I stream my computers audio to skype? On the Mac, it's easy as hell (just install soundflower, and use that as the audio device), but nothing is working on PC. I tried like 4 different methods (stereo mix, Vistula audio cable, jack router) and it either has horrendous lag (I want to stream a DAW while I play piano with midi, so I need low latency), or it doesn't show up in skype. For example, jack router doesmt show up in skype, VAC has garbage latency. And "stereo mix" doesn't pick up my computer/system audio (ie when I select stereo mix in skype, the audio bar never moves). It's 2014 for f***s sake.

My GF has two children with an ex. The ex lives out of state, so he is staying in her house for a few days to spend time with the kids. She insists that nothing is going on between them, and that they have both dated other people since etc. On one hand, I feel like a naive fool if I say "ok, makes sense", but then if I say she is cheating, I worry that I may be paranoid and pessimistic, which would hurt her, if she actually is faithful. So my question is this: In the history of the world, have two exes lived together for a week or so, and it did not result in intercourse? Does that actually exist?

Hey guys, I am interested in finding the optimal weight loss exercise, and the consensus seems to be that you get the most bang for your buck with jumping jacks (as in jumping jacks burn more per minute than jogging etc), my confusion comes from people also saying that the cardio is all about the length of time rather than the effort. If this is the case, it would mean that it's best to jog because you can jog longer. My question is this. If I do 150 jumping jacks every hour, (.which would be about 3 minutes each session), will it not give me good results since at no point am I having a long length? Am I better off, say jumping jacks for 20 minutes a day in one take, rather than 10 5-minute sessions a day?

For example, can someone make an app that retrieves information from a database like IMDB, or would the person have to pay IMDB to access the info even though it's free to access by anyone?

It has been the general consensus that the grammar in the phrase "I be at" is incorrect, but I am here to propose that black people have actually been correct all this time. "I be at" is actually the only way it can be said while using the verb "be" in any of its tense forms. Let me explain what this means. Every verb has a tense that fits the past-continuing tense form. Lets use the words "run", "jump", and "play". In the past tense these would be ran, jumped, and played, while the past tense of be would be was. The current form would be running, jumping, playing, and being. These are verbs and thus have a form for all the tenses. So how would one use the word "be" in the sentence "I (blank) at the park"? One could say "I am always at the park" or "I can generally and consistently be located at the park" etc, but these are completely different sentences with different words, and are not using the verb "be". Someone prosed that the form of "be" in this sentence should be "am" thus rendering the sentence as "i am at the park". The problem is that this phrase doesnt treat the word "am" as a verb nor does it denote that one is always or usually at the park, but rather presently. Furthermore, am is not used as a verb by evidence that "am-ing" is not a word, nor can a persom "am",while someone CAN "be", and be-ing IS a word. All of this, coupled with the next fact that verbs that are in past-continuing tenses, are spelled exactly the same way, meaning that the way you describe the fact that you "run" continuously is by saying "i run" as opposed to "i ran" denoting that you no longer run. So "jump" is rendered as " i jump ", "run" is denoted as "i run" etc, and ergo "be" would be "i be". I believe I have proven that black people had it right all along when using the wording "i be" to denote a past but continuing tense. "i be at the club" is the only way to use the verb "be" in this sentence.

This question is assuming the Bible is correct, and thus Paul wrote the pauline epistles, Jeremiah wrote Jeremiah etc. So this isn't a discussion about Jahwist, Elohist etc. Many books in the Bible, particularly the NT are anonymous works and were given authors based on random tradition, such as "mathew" writing "mathew" even though nowhere in the bible does it say so. This same thing applies to Genesis. Contrary to other books, such as leviticus, exodus etc, there is zero reason to believe that genesis was written by Moses. For one, it never says he did, nor is he even mentioned once, unlike the other early books, secondly, the entire bible consistently refers to moses as being the one that wrote the "Law" which includes books like leviticus, Deuteronomy, but not once does it mention that moses wrote Genesis, which has nothing to do with the giving of the Law. So what exactly is the reason that christians claim that moses wrote genesis? What is the logic/argument ?

Ok, since every atheist is a scientist with an extensive background in anthropology and molecular biology, was there a first human? I ask because atheists laugh at the idea of a first human, such as adam and eve, but surely in the chain of evolution, at SOME point it had to be a human when it previously wasnt right? So is the issue with the name "adam" ?

1. Created existence (space, earth, water, everything) by himself

2. Is not an elevated human (not anthropomorphic ie doesnt have arms, legs, and fills the universe etc)

3. Is immortal (cannot die, period)

4. Is timeless ( ie, was not "born", has no parents that are older etc)

Other issues like "all knowing" are secondary, and i am only worried about finding a deity with these particular qualities. The most popular "gods" such as zeus, norse gods etc fail to qualify as they are not proported to have made the universe, and in most cases are mortal, or only immortal as long as they dont get killed by other beings (ie they qre not immortal in the true sense, they simply dont die of old age). Also, these gods all have parents etc and they themselves are byproducts of existance (gaia etc) . This is not a debate thread, i am just looking for gods in mythologies that were truly proported to be Gods and not simple elevated humans.

I had a vivid dream last night and I remember some of the details which I will describe. In the dream, I was in some sort of competition that took place in this parallel universe where it was like old times, but in the future ( like star wars for example ). It was a huge circular stadium type place that was greyish/blueish/metallic and the spectators and the guy running the competition were dressed like Romans. In fact, now that I think about it, it resembled the stadium in Rome where the gladiators fought in the past. The contestants were large group teams, with like 30-40 people each, except I was in my own team by myself. We were each standing on our own platforms in the center of the colosseum and the part of the competition I remember included a question and answer section. We were asked some sort of philosophical/social question, which I do not remember exactly, but it had something to do with which form of society was best, one where everyone was tolerated (different religions, beliefs etc) or one where everyone was the same and forced to live according to the same universal format etc. The question was something about which one was correct or functional. I remember answering that the only one that will work was the freedom/respect/tolerance one, and a few other teams also answered similarity, but most, ablest like 70% of the teams there answered that the totalitarian/everyone forced to be the same/ system was optimal. The host, who was standing on his own tall platform, then told us that the correct answer was the free society, and then he swooped in and tackled all the teams that answered incorrectly, stating something like "if you don't know this basic tenant, then you don't deserve to run a society" or something like that (it was much more epic, I just don't remember the quote), and the teams he tackled fell when the platforms they were standing on opened underneath them, and I guess they were out of the game. Then my platform, and the few teams that answered started rising in their platforms and this awesome music started playing. It has some deep strings and synth strings, and the lyrics were a phrase in another language repeating over the music. I don't remember the phrase anymore, but I did when I first awoken but I fell asleep again. It was something like "mum ba ka" and a lady and choir were singing it. It was intense, scary and sublime all in one. I have had SEVERAL dreams where I hear the most amazing music that doesn't exist in real life. Has anyone else heard amazing original music in a dream?

Where does the bible say that "saved" people will live in "heaven" as a reward? I cannot find this phrase. Paul claims that he knew someone that claimed to have gone to a heaven, since apparently there are many, but even Paul is unsure of the details or whether the guy really went to a heaven or dreamt it. So once again, where does the bible say that people will live in heaven if they are "saved" ? Also, keep in mind that the kingdom of heaven/kingdom of God refer to the state of being saved and to the future age where a jew of the lineage of david will reign as king in Israel, and not to a place as "God" isn't a place. I would just like a verse that says something along the lines of "saved people go to heaven".

Ok, my cousin gets pulled over all the time. Sometimes he knows what he did, such as rolling a stop sign etc, but on few occasions , he has claimed that he didn't do anything and that the cops wouldn't even give him a reason, which doesn't sound lawful. I didn't believe him, until he got pulled over while i was in the passenger's seat, adn he did indeed get pulled over for no reason. The cop pulled up to his window and said something about his, something about "like the song", and he replied " yeah i like this song" and the cop replied "well, maybe the neighborhood doesn't like it". at which point we understand that the cop meant that the music was loud (which it was a little loud, but he doesn't even have a system, so it wasn't nearly as loud as other cars), to which he replies by apologizing and turning the volume down. The cop proceeded to ask him to pull over right then and there. The cop then asks both of us if we have drugs or weed on us (none of us do any drugs at all), and he says no, and the cop says "it smells like weed", which it didn't . So the cop asks my cousin to roll his window down and he replies that his window doesn't work and doesnt roll down, so the cop tells him to get out and to put his hands behind his back (WTH?), so he does and he isnt cuffed, just frisked and asked t sit in the back seat of teh cop car. My cousin asked what he did wrong to which the cop replied "you didnt do anything", after a few seconds, the cop comes and asks me if i use drugs and i say no. then im also asked to step out (which is a surreal moment, seeing that i had never experienced this before), and the cop frisks me adn asks me to sit in teh back of the cop car also, at which point my cousin says" now do you believe me?" , and like 15 seconds after that, the cop tells us to get out quick because he has to stop another car that just passed us, so we get out and the adventure is over. ive heard of people say "they pulle dme over for no reason", but then they were doing drugs or something along those lines, but in this case we literally didnt do anything wrong, and even teh cop couldnt think of a reason, which i thought by law they would need to.

1.Can they legally pull someone over, frisk them, and ask them to sit in the back of the cop car without ever having or giving a reason?

2. Was this a "qouta" thing? or is that a myth? efore we got pulled over, another car had just been pulled over seconds before by the same cop, and then it pulled a third car over after he let us go, so what was going on there ?

it was a terrible feeling to live in America and have your liberty and rights taken away like that , if even for a few minutes, with no explanation given, nor anything unlafwul being done on our part.

Why do Bibles have the words of Jesus in red as in to signify the importance of them but the word's of God are not red ? (God speaks alot in the OT while only makes a brief cameo in the NT when He says "This is my son in whom i am pleased"

My friend has a hyundai santa fe (2001-2004 model, dont know what year exactly) and he has an ipod touch and i was wondering if his car had an audio jack somewhere. I read that many cars have one somewhere in the back which is usually used to hook up a cd changer but that it could also be used to simply hook up an ipod to the car stereo system with an audio cable from teh headphone jack to the line in jack on the car. Does anyone know is this particular car comes with one? and where would it be ?

Hello. Im looking for good games that have online wifi mulitiplayer gameplay . So far i have "UNO" and "Srammbler 2" , but the UNO online gameplay is real unstable , it only works for like 4 games and then i have to restart and wait because it gives me "network error" . I like simple games where thinking is involved , so im looking for puzzle games , minigolf , trivia, wheels of fortune type things and not , shooting, ir sports games . What games do you recommend taht are fun and have online play that always works ? For some reason the iTUnes store doesnt have an option to show me just the games with online multiplayer options, so i have to look at the games one by one to see

Im trying to make an Audio CD with music i made and i also want to make some music videos (3-4) , and i was wondering if there was a way to burn one audio disc with the 10 songs that will play in a cd player, but also include 3 to 4 videos that will play in a dvd player in the same CD . At teh very least video files that would play in a computer or fancy DVD player that plays different formats like divx etc . please help , thanks

Hello , me and some other people want to make a "mokumentary" (a satire/spoof styled documentray) to make fun of the insane conspiracy theorists . We plan to make a fake conspiracy about a celebrity planning on destroying the sun . What are the rules regarding using real peoples names ( ie, which ever celebrity we choose) and keep in mind that its a comedy . I see these types of things all the time on tv shows like Conan Obrien etc (ie, a gag involving the person of tom cruise) and always wondered if they could get sued or if it was perfectly allowed and protected etc. thanks
