Is Family Guy a Simpons-based cartoon?

I think no, but I'd like to know your opinion.

    No, but Seth MacFarlane was a huge Simpsons fan growing up and wanted to create a show that would equal it in caliber.

    So, you could say Family Guy was inspired by the Simpsons.

    Simpsons was created by Matt Groening

    Family guy was created by Seth Macfarlane

    Futurama was created by David X. Cohen and Matt Groening

    Comparing the three, you'll notice only Futurama and Simpsons characters have the typical "Groening Overbite" Also, both Futurama and Simpsons are still funny.

    Perhaps, the creator used the simpsons as inspiration...but no family guy is an original cartoon...

    No. The Simpsons is witty while Family Guy, although clever, is more slapstick comedy.
