Parents - what are your average utility bills?
I tried asking this in real estate but I'm not having any luck. I'm getting ready to move to CA in a few weeks and since I've been living in military housing in Germany I haven't paid bills in three years. I'd like to get an idea of how much utilities are in the US in general. Where are you from? How much do you pay on average for water/sewer, garbage, gas, and electric? Also, how big is your house and how many kids do you have?

I live in Kentucky. Its just me and my husband. (expecting our first in november). Our house is 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom (one story). Our water bill is $15-$20 a month and our electric is $80-$100 in the summer and $130-$150 in the winter. We dont have gas anymore because we switched everything to electric. Our garbage is $17 a month. Hope I helped :)

Me, my fiancé & our 2 year old son live in a 2 bedroom apartment in VA. Everything in our place runs off electric. The bill was usually around $70 but they allowed us to sign up for budget billing which dropped it down to $39. Our garbage, water & sewer is included in our rent which is $860 a month. Our cable & internet together is $110 a month.
