A stray cat showed up at my doorsteps this morning. She is solid white and very preety. But?
she has something wrong with her ears. She is shy and i was afraid to pick her up but i sat by her while she ate ( i feed her) and looked at her ears. The are pink and scabby looking. They are bent back a little. There is no blood.. And i looked closely as i could inside her ears and didn't see anything wrong on the inside. She has been sleeping on my porch all morning now and im thinking about keeping her. Does anyone have any idea about what could be wrong with her ears? Thanks for any help.

Since you didn't see anything wrong inside her ears, it may be little mites that are living under the surface of the skin in/on her ears. Mites are intensely itchy for the cat and the scabs are probably from her scratching her ears. I'm happy that you're thinking about giving a stray a new home rather than buying a cat from the pet shop or from a breeder. Even if you don't take her in, you should get her to a vet so that her ears can be checked out by a pro.

VERY POSSIBLY SKIN CANCER

White cats are prone to skin cancer - especially on the soft tissue of the ears
They are sun worshippers
My 19 year old had really scabby ears and the vet confirmed that it was cancer but it doesn't affect them in the same way it would a human and as she was so old it wasn't worth putting her through surgery and she did not suffer at all.
In some case they may chop bits off the ears off, If she is really a stray why don't you adopt her and take her to the vets.
Whoever gave me a thumbss down clearly doesn't have a clue!
I know cancer seems a bit extreme thing to suggest but it is more than likely right!
Take it to a vets and he will confirm how common it is especially with white cats.

If she is white and is a stray she may have skin cancer on her ears. Please keep her and take her to the vet immediately to save her. This will not heal on it's own if it is skin cancer. White cats or cats with light fur on their ears should never be let outside without a special sun block on the ears.

Take her to the vets anyway and have her checked.I have two cats that both turned up on my doorstep and good for you for keeping her,She will give you a lot of love and fun and you are saving her from a life of hell as a feral cat.Have her spayed when the vet tells you it can be done.Good luck.

Take her to a vet! Report "lost cat!" or if she's a stray, ask if she would be able for you to keep.
