got a job offer friday...they have to do a background check..how long do they take usually?

It could take 2 or 3 days. Depending on the type of position, they will search for criminal record, maybe do a credit check, verify employment and a anemic credentials. Almost all the info is on the Internet.

Usually they get in touch with the local police dept. And they run your name to see what pops up it depends on when they do it should only take a few minutes.
