Tib/Fib Recovery boot?

I broke my tib/fib in july when i was crossing the street and a car hit my leg. it was a clean break and i had surgery and rods put in. i had crutches with a non weight bearing cast, then I had a weight bearing cast then i got it off after 2 months. The doctor gave me a walking boot to rehabilitate. I have been wearing the boot for about 2-3 weeks now, and now I walk completely without it. I have no problem whatsoever walking, and there is no pain. so basically it's like normal again. I'm waiting a bit to start running but the walking boot was given for an average time of 6 weeks. I am younger so my bones heal at a faster rate then adults. Walking with the boot is challenging, and way more difficult then walking without it. I was wondering if it's alright if I feel 100% comfortable walking to just stop wearing the boot unless any pain starts? I feel like the boot is a unneeded inconvenience.

I'd say talk to your doctor about it, you dont want to take any risks by trying to walk without it because if you do it could make it worse and u'd have to have it on for even longer :L So my advice is consult your doctor before taking any further action :) xxx
