How do I find the minimum or maximum values of a function?

I have been out recovering on surgery and the teacher never taught me this or sent me notes of how to find the min/max values of a function.

here's one of the problems I have.

y= 15 (x-25)^2 -130

Help is appreciated!

    The number added or subtracted at the end is the maximum or minimum value. It's a minimum if the number in front is positive and a maximum if the number in front is negative.

    So here, -130 is a minimum.

    You know this because 15(x - 25)^2 has to be either 0 or positive because of the squared, so 0 is the lowest it can be and 0 - 130 is the lowest the whole thing can go.

    well the domain is where the line goes on the x axis and the range is where the line(s) go to and from on the Y axis
