Delusions of reality?

If the definition of a Delusion is having an idea of truth that goes against facts tending to disproove the Delusion; is the delusional person so sick mentaly or morally they cannot accept said facts to disproove their ideas in their particular Religion? Have the Religious noted that the Bible has a man-made origin and man made interpretation? Why do they take it literal disregarding information it's a metaphorical work? Why have they ignored everything Outside of thier religion that tends to indicate they are wrapped up in ideas of untruth as they discard the truth? "If the bible said it, it must be true" is a concept that baffles the intelligent...why can they not see other sources of information on reality are not "The devils work"...

Update:

In regards to Jessica and her NDE. I have studied the NDE in details and believe it is completely valid. I have no arguments about the afterlife, simply the Orthodox views of it and the lack of logical investigation said religious members fail to follow.

Update 2:

In regards to zealforhim: Prophecies have often been hit n miss. Jesus was not understood by Orthodox views as such views were often or always taken as literal; Christ acted as teacher-Rabbi in a living role; ie, he did not play himself...he played the part of truth and most all "Christians" dont understand this nor care to and defualt back into delusions of "Savior" Doctrines and sin. Did Jesus cure the blind....? Of course not, he was teaching from the Spritual standpoint that " Truth will cure the spritualy blind" if they wish to see truth. I simply see most Christian as Spritualy blind refusing to see Christ for what he truly was.

Update 3:

Update 4:

Smallone is making a statement I have made for many yrs. The Christian Church SELF APPOINTED themselves to act as messenger for Christ; Christ himself did not form nor ask the Church to step up to the plate; this was their error alone. The Orthodox views have decimated the gnostic views by literally killing the gnostics; I for one give each Church a little truth, but not one will I give all. Look at Krishna whom lived 300 yrs before Christ in linear time-table terms; Krishnas Birthday was ditto to Christ, Krishna was sacrificed for the betterment of others and Krishna was also "Son of God" . GOD does not live in our time zone....:)

Update 5:

Im picking Jessica as best answer because she made a point I wanted to make and have always stated; Churches have no more "Authority" than any man. Jessica stated that her NDE cannot be "prooven" and I tell you anything any Church claims is no more valid and in my view holds less credibility than Jessicas story; I ask jessica to tell her story and I will listen. :)

This very thing was discussed on an online radio show I listened to last night.

And the answer is located at about 56 minutes into the show. (The person's question starts at 49 minutes and the answer begins at 50 minutes.)

"He created no religion. ...These people that believe in the Bible...How in the world can they say that Christ set up a church?"

I think it's a lack of awareness. Their consciousness is in a kind of automatic pilot where they just repeat what they have been told for most of them, and for others it's out of fear, and actually, I think it's a mix of both. But the origin of the fact is the same: their consciousness is just focused in a certain realm and doesn't see further and they don't feel the need too. They are in this experience, and the day they will have enough of it, they will move on, like everyone of us.

And you know, we all have in us some sides of ourselves which are like this. Haven't you notice them? And most probably, our understanding of life must appear to some other beings as narrow as the one you describe.

    Life is diversity for sure!

Believers must have answers. Christians believe in a prophet Jesus who said he was going to die for the sins of the world, fulfilled many Old Testament prophecies, then promised he would raise himself up from the dead.

On the third day he did. Jesus' existence was well-documented by secular historians like Tacitus (no friend of Christians).

Peter said "...we were eyewitnesses of His Majesty".

Only God Himself can give revelation on the truth - not on the seen but the unseen. The devils greatest tool is deception, I know because I was deceived for 44 years. It was only when everything in my life went pear shaped, losing my business my huband suffering severe burns losing our business and home my dog dying of a huge tumour my car being vandalised - so much went wrong in my life suddenly that at 4am I cried out if there is a b....y God then I need to know now or I want to die now and I really meant it. little did I know that at that moment while my husband was in husband he woke up and picked up a Bible and started to read it. (This is a great niracle as he could not read - he did not want to look at any Bible as neither of us believed it), but someone was praying earnestly for us for 20 years, and this was the beginning of our revelation. It's a long story as we fought Him in our unbelief. But God in His mercy showed us so many miracles and suddenly gave us a hunger for the truth - Now the Holy Spirit is in us and opens our eyes to the blindness, lifts the veil. It's awesome - you just need to ask Him to reveal the truth to you - if He doesnot exist then He cant do it, but as He hears and wants you to know Him to love Him then He will answer you if you ask. But those who refuse Him have made their own choice, He forces no-one and no-one else can do it for you. God bless you.

They simply don't want to because they don't want to believe there is no award for their sub-ordinance. It's a fear factor. What they don't understand is that just because their religion is wrong doesn't mean that there isn't afterlife. Yes afterlife can not be documented and is left to individual opinion. But I in particular don't fear death from my own near death experience.

because once they have invested any length of time in their faith, to admit that they did so erroneously is shameful and something some of them cannot handle.
