acne and sensitive skin?

I've been having pretty nasty acne lately, on my forehead, cheeks and chin.

I've tried loads of different products, but nothing seems to be doing the trick.

I have super sensitive skin and it seems like everything I've tried just irritates my skin.

Does anyone know of any skin care products that aren't too heavy and work on my awfully sensitive skin?

Natural remedies or natural skin care product ideas are acceptable.

No Proactiv though, that product made my skin much worse.

Update:

When I break out, its mainly red and painful pimples.

I do have dry skin as well in case anyone is curious.

How exactly is your acne? Are they large red bumps that are painful, and take a long time to go away/fade?

I noticed a shift in my type of acne during my late high school/early college years, and after a while NOTHING I tried worked (proactiv did nothing except excessively dry my skin out, that's all). I had pretty sensitive skin too.

I also tried natural --even vegan products--and they didn't help either. Honestly, you may want to go see a dermatologist. I know that it can be expensive, but if you have insurance it may cover most of the cost. My mother was running out of reasons and excuses, and I was getting frustrated because nothing I could find was helping my acne anymore.

If normal OTC products (with benzyl peroxide or salycic acid) don't work, then nothing else that's available without a prescription will work. All the products on the open market are going to contain the same ingredients, because they are limited on what they can legally contain.

You've probably heard a lot of about retin-a treatment or accutane. I had done retin-a before and for me, it was just like proactiv, but it may work for you. Everyones skin is different. I then decided to take all the risks associated with accutane, and I went on the drug. It was a long journey, but for me personally, it's been worth it. I get small pimples here and there, and rarely small groupings/breakouts....but nothing like the acne I had before.

Honestly, I havent washed my face with ANY product in over a year; I don't even use a face wash in the shower. I don't need to. It's the best feeling ever.

Best of luck with finding something that helps. The best advice I can give is go to a dermatologist. I never thought I'd ever go to one, but I did, and I am glad I did.

Jojoba oil is particularly good for skincare. It penetrates into the skin and does not clog pores. It can be used on all skin types, and is especially sensitive skin . It contains vitamin E and antioxidants which are great for fighting aging signs and moisturizing the skin. In addition it is also antibacterial making it great for treating acne breakouts.

You can also use essential oils to help -

Using Tea Tree Essential oil it has great on acne as it has antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties. Simply put a couple of drops on a cotton bud and dot onto each spot. Don't use it over your entire face as it can irritate the skin for some people.

Lavender Essential oil has well known antifungal and antiseptic properties and is widely used in treating acne. For that stubborn pimples lavender can be applied neat using a cotton bud or pad. Redness, swelling and irritation will be dramatically reduced. Though better used in dilution for larger areas, I would recommend between 10-20 drops of essential oil to 50ml of carrier oil such as sweet almond or jojoba oil.

    Hope this helps!

While it took little less than two months for me to really see a difference, my acne, blackheads and whole lot of other skin problems I had such as eczema had completely cleared! It was totally amazing...

I use the seaweed line from the body shop. I also really like aveda products, but they're really expensive. I have sensitive combination- oily/dry skin that's prone to mild acne and blackheads. I also like to use glycolic acid peels, but that's more for overall skin texture then for acne and may be too harsh on your skin.

Wash your face twice everyday ( waking up and before sleeping) with clean and clear morning burst. It may not be Caled acne cleaner but it works really well! Then for a while you might want to wear makeup to cover up the acne and stuff. When the acne dissapears, you dont have to use makeup. And make sure you wash twice EVERYDAY dont let your face get oily and when it does, wash it instantly! Wash any chance you get! Hope i helped!
