Did I sprain or break my hand rebounding the basketball?

I was playing basketball yesterday and rebounded the ball with one hand and brought it to my other hand like I normally do but this time when the ball came to my palm, the joint right at the base of my index finger really hurt. I still have use of the finger but I cant grasp anything with it and that area of my palm is swollen. It feels really tight when I bend my finger around my knuckle and the palm of my knuckle but doesnt really hurt to much. Did I brake that part of my hand, sprain or dislocate it?

I think you might have jammed your indez finger.

I remember when I would play basketball and every now and then my finger would smash against the ball and it felt like I broke it but I could move but it hurt like crazy.

Just try and not use it for a while.

    Hope this helps

You should probably get it x-rayed since there's a high chance it's broken. Better safe than sorry.
