Cat has reddish spot on ear?

The other day I noticed a small black dot on the back of my cat's ear. It was kinda like a tiny black pimple.. Now its a reddish spot. The inside of his ear looks fine, you can really see the reddish spot from the inside.

Im not sure if it was an ear mite, tick or if he got bit. Not sure if this is something I should take to vet or if it will probably just go away on its own. He's eating, drinking and acting normally.

Update:

Thanks mama cat. it seems to be getting smaller and less red. I been busy this week and bad weather so didnt wanna run him to vet if i didn't have to. If it was on his body I would have def ran him to vet no matter what but since it was the tip of his ear didnt seem too bad.

I been looking at it everyday and even taking a pic to compare.

Thanks for responding

It could have been a tic that has now gone and left his bite mark, or the cat could have gotten a scratch.

I don't think you need to take him to the vet as he is acting normally.

Put some neosporin on the ear a couple of times a day and watch for signs of infection.

If it starts bleeding, has pus or gets bigger, then you should think about a vet.
