  • Controlling cat's eating?

I have 2 cats 3 and 4 years of age. The 3 year old is male who has had urinary issues. He's on C/D food from vet. He will eat wet food but can take all day just to finish a 3oz can. I give him canned in morning and 1/4 cup dry in the evening.

The 4 year old female is overweight and has hairball issues. She won't eat wet food so I give her 1/4c dry Blue Buffalo 2x a day. They are both nibblers. I have always measured food and had scheduled times to feed them. Even if they act hungry at the wrong time they get no extras but they still eat from both bowls.

The girl is getting too fat I would like to control her feeding but since they don't finish dry in one sitting I don't know what to do with the leftover food. I have separate feeding areas I try to close off to give each cat time to eat

  • Cat hasn't pooped in 2 days been to vet?

My 3 year old male cat hasn't pooped in 2 days. He hadn't pooped all weekend so I took him to vet. He had X-ray, was given enema and sent home hours later after he pooped. I've been giving him his meds lactulose, antibiotic and vitamin. He still has not pooped since Monday. He eats, was drinking water today. He peed a lot this morning but nothing since. He's not even going to box like he wanted to do something I'm taking him back to vet in morning but wondering if anyone else had this issue with pet and outcome.

The pre enema X-ray showed him full of poop but no apparent obstruction or even bad hair balls

  • Collect cat's urine for next appt or have them do it?

My male cat is being treated for having urinary issues and crystals. He was checked last week and was pretty good, protein still a lil high and he had a lil fever (week after starting treatment). They will want to see him again and want me to bring a urine sample. Not sure how hard that will be. Should I just take him and have vet take the sample or is that too hard on my kitty? Hes a nice gentle boy at home but turns into a demon at the vet so dunno if they just dont wanna deal with him or if they think its harder on him to have them take sample.

  • Should I be really worried, cat with urinary problem?

He came from spending the weekend at the vet. I took him in Saturday cause he was trying to pee and couldn't. He was full and ended up having crystals so he had been on a catheter all weekend, it was taken off this morning. They kept him for observation til mid afternoon, his bladder was pretty empty when I got him. Awhile after getting him home he peed a little bit. After that he went o box several times and nothing. I saw hm go again but now he still trying to go and nothing, maybe a tiny bit. Does having the catheter for two days make it harder for them to go on their own or could he be getting plugged up again. He has his special diet food and his meds so Im wondering if it just takes awhile for it too kick in? Im gonna call in the morning and see, was just wondering if maybe I need to find an ER vet tonight

  • I don't like collars on cats but I had to get a cat license should I keep collar on al the time or ....?

just when I take them out of the house (vet or nail trim). Even tho I would definitely get a safety collar Im still afraid of cat getting paw stuck trying to take the thing off. Right now I put tags away because the cats stay indoors but I do take them to vet for shots and check ups and to Petco for nail trims so I would want to use the collar then in case they get away some how. I would prefer just to use it at these times but I figure if I just keep it on they will get used to it.

  • FedEx Destination Sort Facility is in my area should I get my package sooner?

My item was scheduled for delivery on Monday but its already "at the destination sort facility" is it likely I will get it sooner? Im hoping tomorrow but maybe Friday since it arrived at facility after 5pm (not much experience with FedEx I know things seem to move faster on UPS)

Do they give you a little more warning if item has to be signed for or till they most likely keep the original date? I know they dont deliver on weekends but I was hoping for Friday at least

  • Should I get an iPad 3 now or wait?

I have been wanting and iPad but was hearing about them overheating. Is that really an issue or are there other issues with the current ones? Should I get now or wait for a some newer ones that may have addressed the issues? Another thing I have tons of apps on my iPhone will the iPad ones be the same or will I have to pay for them again? I know some cost more such as Angry Birds Space (not that I have that app but its one I noticed with different price for phone and tablets)

  • is it illegal to have a milk crate?

I had always heard it was illegal to have a milk crate. Kinda like being scared to take off that tag on a mattress. But is i only illegal to steal one?

There was a milk crate in front of my house for a long time. I was afrad to take it believing the stuff told to me long ago. I was waiting for someone else to take it. I figured some one would (junk truck, shopping cart collection truck, a kid etc) Finally I just took it and put in my backyard for now......I won't get in trouble will i?

If it is "illegal' to possess one, what are you supposed to do with it? Take it to a dairy?

Are there any silly laws you heard as a kid and always believed or were afraid of doing?

  • Is it hard to trim cat's nails by yourself?

I have been taking my cat to Petco for nail trims for almost 2 years and hes been so good. We always got out fast and he never gave them any trouble. Now for the past few months he has been fighting it. He gives me a hard time getting in the carrier and gives groomer a hard time and has been muzzled twice. and a few times they needed me to hold him.

Today was the worst he was really fighting it. Im wondering if I should just learn to do them myself but Im by myself with him and not sure if I can do it alone.

Im not sure what set him off. I know one time I took him there were several dogs being groomed and the groomer dropped the metal door from the carrier. Im not sure if thats what set him off or he got hurt or hes just smart enough to know whats going on now.

I like going to Petco cause its a very short drive and theres usually nobody in there. Vet is further away (more stressful trip) plus theres always dogs in there. I figure Petco is the best for us all as far as stress goes.

  • Catching cat that got out?

I need more tips on getting my cat to get back in when he sneaks outside. I put some mail out and he ran out. Hes fixed and clawed.

But he does escape at times and its hard getting him back in. Food dont always work, he quit falling for that. He stopped falling for that after the first time.

Sees patience is best he finally comes back in.

If i try to catch him he runs off and even went in the street one day so im trying not to to be too aggresive

  • How often do you give your cat treats?

Do you give them treats everyday? Only as a reward for doing something good? Occasionally or never and how many do you give?

  • Cat has reddish spot on ear?

The other day I noticed a small black dot on the back of my cat's ear. It was kinda like a tiny black pimple.. Now its a reddish spot. The inside of his ear looks fine, you can really see the reddish spot from the inside.

Im not sure if it was an ear mite, tick or if he got bit. Not sure if this is something I should take to vet or if it will probably just go away on its own. He's eating, drinking and acting normally.

  • Why do people suggest not feeding cats seafood flavored foods?

My cats are on a mostly dry food diet. I give them blue buffalo chicken flavored food. I buy wet too and feed it to them once or more a week. I keep hearing to stay away from seafood flavors but not sure why. I try a variety of flavors and brands of the wet to see what he likes and he seems to really prefer Surf n Turf by Merrick. Is it ok to buy him more of the fishy flavors if thats what he prefers as long as his daily diet is a chicken based food?

I don't give them milk ever and I do give a PINCH of canned tuna if I am making a salad for myself but thats only once a month or so if even that.

I mainly feed them the dry food and they do have plenty of water with their fountain they drink from daily. One cat just never did like wet food but I put it out sometimes and the boy is the only one to eat it

  • Does anyone still use PULSE dialing on landline phones?

I noticed all phones have a switch or menu option to "pulse". Don't most people use touch tone nowadays? For those that DO still rely on pulse is it to save money (not pay for touch tone service if your phone company charges extra for that) or is it the area you live in only has that option?

I had loaned someone a corded landline phone cause of bad wiring in house causing electrical outlet. The switch accidently got switched to pulse....so I wondered if anyone still actually uses that setting?

  • Do your cats like to jump on top of the door?

Both my cats love sitting on top of the inside door, I gotta put something in front of the door so it doesnt swing closed. One time girl cat was up there and boy cat jumped up there too so I had two cats on a couple inches space. While I was trying to post this boy cat was trying to pull towel off my hair that I just washed.

Do your cats do either of these things? Sit on door or take your bath towels either off you or off the rack?
