Cat hasn't pooped in 2 days been to vet?

My 3 year old male cat hasn't pooped in 2 days. He hadn't pooped all weekend so I took him to vet. He had X-ray, was given enema and sent home hours later after he pooped. I've been giving him his meds lactulose, antibiotic and vitamin. He still has not pooped since Monday. He eats, was drinking water today. He peed a lot this morning but nothing since. He's not even going to box like he wanted to do something I'm taking him back to vet in morning but wondering if anyone else had this issue with pet and outcome.

The pre enema X-ray showed him full of poop but no apparent obstruction or even bad hair balls

Update:

He's mostly on a dry prescription food for previous uti. I had been giving him canned once a week but not lately cause of issue with ants. He takes forever to eat canned food I can only put out a spoon or so at a time. He had some canned yesterday.

Update 2:

Thanks for the answers. Both seem to be correct for now. He had a good BM the morning I was gonna take him to vet. He did not go again yesterday and I called vet, he said having a good movement day before was good sign but if he still didn't go by today to call. He ended up going early this morning again. So I will continue on wet food and meds and see how he is Monday. I also realized I was off on the lactulose dosage.

Wet food seems to be helping and that enema Monday did clean him out good

Thanks for the answers I wish u could pick both.

Have you asked the vet about his diet? Is he eating mostly dry food? If so, start on canned cat food. It supplies needed moisture and is easier to digest. Have the vet examine him again tomorrow.

The vet will recheck him to make sure all is okay. The enema he had probably cleared out everything he had in his system and he is not ready to have another bowel movement. Your vet will let you know. I wouldn't worry quite yet.
