Just got my new stray Kitten fixed and ...?

We found her and she loves us. So we kept her after looking for owners. She was pregnant when the vet fixed her. It has been a month. The concern is that her brest are getting larger. Like if she were pregers. Is this normal or a Sign for the vet to look at. I was not sure if it was just a normal hormonal change that will subside with time. Please answer if you have had a cat of 6 months fixed and what SHE was like after.

Update:

So on phone vet says kinda normal may not be. Aaaah! They are not hurting her. I rilly don't want to pay for a 75 doller visit to hear it IS normal. Not that I wont take her when neaded, but just to hear " Aah yeah this is normal" is not worth it to me.

I have not had a six month old kitten fixed; however, I did live on a farm growing up.

If she was pregnant before she was fixed her body may still be going through the motions. I would take her to the vet just to be sure. Seventy-five dollars is worth knowing if your cat is okay.

If you are that against going to the vet, call and ask if my theory may be right. I don't know, it's a theory.

So when you called the vet and spoke with someone (the vet...a technician) on the phone... did you ask how long if this is normal should you expect it to remedy itself? What are signs of distress with the cat? Do they offer a free two week follow up visit after the surgery?

This is a common mistake people make when taking in strays or just adopting.. pets are not cheap, it is noble of you to take in a stray and get it spayed, however, you should also be responsible enough to spend a few extra dollars to make sure the pet is healthy. It is possible the vet will let you make payments or give you a discount. Don't be cheap now! An infection gone untreated could kill her or be far more costly if left untreated. Call the vet back, ask more questions, they are your experts - not strangers on yahoo!

    Good luck!

If she was fixed within about a month, I would say the vet should not charge an office call for this. It could be related to the surgery and should be considered a recheck. Tell them you need them to reassess her.

worth getting the vet to check it out .It may be nothing to worry about ,but better safe than sorry
