Dog breed clubs : Has anyone else noticed this?

now I know this isn't true for ALL non us breed parent clubs, but has anyone else noticed that when compared to US parent clubs, many foreign breed clubs aren't as detailed as far as the information about the breed, what to look for in a breed, health information goes?

I've noticed this a few times and had to use links from the us club for the same breed to provide information in some of my answers.

Can anyone think of a reason for this? Is it a matter of whomever is in charge of maintaining the site hasn't thought to provide such information to anyone who comes across the site?

I've seen too many clubs of every sort to be interested. Clubs gather those who enjoy the CLUB,not what it's about/for.

Breed clubs are archaic. And I'm not a joiner.

But, to answer your question - the US has 20 million purebred dogs (IIRC) - and its a $20 BILLION dollar industry.

Breed clubs are the hook line and sinker for breeders to show their merchandise from and this is the sole revenue stream for the registry (AKC)

Its advertising for the unwashed masses.

    Language differences?

I wouldn't necessarily agree with you... of course I'm going off the SV club compared to the american german shepherd breed club. I would say the SV website has plenty of information.... in German... so you can trust poor google translations, or you can learn german to get full use of what it offers.

I never look at breeding clubs, so no. But that sounds kind of silly.
