What to do about this injury?

A few weeks ago, while playing volleyball, I bent my thumb back very far. At first it was a numb kind of feeling then it was all achy. I thought it was a quick "it'll be okay tomorrow" kind of thing....but it wasn't.It still hurts if i try to set the volleyball. The pain is more in the bottom knuckle part, AND when i bend it, it sometimes cracks. What do you think it is? What should I do?

Best answer anyone will give you is to go to the doctor. You may have broken or fractured something. If you don't go and that is the case, it can cause problems in the future because it wasn't treated right. I injured my hand a couple months ago by accidentally slamming it in the car door and I thought it was just bruised, but the pain wasn't getting any better regardless of me having it wrapped, iced, espom salt soak, ibuprofen, etc. So I went to urgent care and found out it was fractured in 2 places. Better safe than sorry, so I say go.

Ice it and rest, but visit a doc just to make sure that is not broken
