If you think someone is about to attack you, what do you do?

There's a man following you for no apparent reason. He's shorter and older than you and is overweight. You are a football player and could most-likely easily out-run him.

Do you:

1 - Run and get away from him?

2 - Call your girlfriend on your cell phone and tell her about it?

3 - Use that cell phone to call 911 and tell them that you think you're in danger?

4 - Turn around, beat the crap out of the guy, and pound his skull into the pavement, without asking any questions?

What does an intelligent, rational, law-abiding citizen do? Hmmmmm...

.

Update:

@Girls... Doesn't make sense. If you KNOW he has a gun, why would you choose hand-to-hand combat? If you think he doesn't have a gun, you can run away.

These answers are so scary. I think we are on the verge of a race war in this country if the media doesn't start telling the whole truth. It's so easy to get the idiots in this country riled up because they are too stupid to learn the whole truth before calling for someone's punishment. It really scares the crap out of me!

1 - You stop talking to your girlfriend and call the police.

    2 - You begin running.

3 - You look for some public place where you can go for help.

4 - Only if this guy catches up to you do you resort to violence.

Anyone with half of a brain knows this is the right response. It's the most likely to lead to an end where you are alive and well. Maybe you're mad because this guy "dissed" you, but isn't a bruised ego better than a bullet in your body?

Even Trayvon's dad said that the voice on the 911 tape yelling for help was NOT Trayvon. Do you think the media is reporting this? No. It doesn't fit their story about how white America is just sooooo evil and hates all other races.

Wake up, people! You're being used! There is no boogeyman. They're using him to scare you into giving up power in your own life.

I do not know because I am a woman, and I know that if anyone were following me at night, I would assume the worst. I can't think of an innocent reason anyone would be following me, however.

How about this--you're a kid and some guy is following you at night and you have no idea why. You would think it was suspicious, no doubt, and you think maybe he wants to rob you or something? He's not dressed in a security uniform or anything, just a t-shirt. The thing is, you're a teenager (they all think they're invincible) and you know you can take the guy, so you don't feel the need to call the cops. You figure you can just get the better of the guy if he tries to rob you or whatever. Then, the guy has a gun, and your life is over.

I know I have felt I was being followed before while in my car at night. It never occurred to me to call the cops. I just drove around until I got to a quickie mart and ran inside. Once I was alone in the movie theater, and some creep asked me if he could sit with me and acted very suspicious. I said no. He ran out right as the movie ended, so I asked some teens if they'd walk me to my car. The guy was sitting in the parking lot waiting for me. I also didn't call the cops. I don't know who does call the cops at the drop of a hat, honestly.

When a child is stalked it's hard to say what young people in his age group are thinking. I'm sure he was scared, being hunted down by a stranger with a gun and no badge. But Zimmerman believed he didn't need any stinking badges to end this kids life who he said was messed up on drugs or something. Yes, turns out he should have run and hopefully not get shot in the back. I hope young Trayvon f&@*ed up his stalker before being murdered. If he would have only smashed his hunters head a little harder on the ground he might have knocked him unconscious. With the phone evidence there is, Zimmerman would probably been the one arrested for stalking someone while armed. Zimmerman had all the motive in the world to kill this "A$$ho!e" as he called him who he was bound and determined to not let him get away on his watch. Crime or not, he just looked like a thief. EVERYTHING Zimmerman did directly led to him murdering an innocent kid. Life in prison should be Zimmermans future.

This guy was trying to be a mother f$@&!ng Charlie Bronson. Whoops, he killed an innocent child!

Even if you think Martin did not do the right thing, since when do we defend the person following then questioning someone on the street? Why did Zimmerman leave his vehicle? Martin is 17 yrs old, Zimmerman is 28, I would hope the 28 yr old would show better judgement and leave matters in police hands. There is absolutely no excuse for Martin being murdered.

All of the above with number 4 as a last resort. However, since the guy ends up having a gun looks like he gets to shot you and get off.

  • 1 can I out run a SUV that the said person is in have i got a speed of 150mph on the flat

2 I am talking to my girlfriend and tell her some weirdo is following me when i spot the SUV she tells me to run and I say i am walking as fast as I can

3 phone is damaged when said person attacks me

4 I have choice i let this weirdo who has not told me why his following shot me in cold blood anyway so fight for my life as is my stand my ground laws remember that little bit of a gem that has a guy not in custody people see fight and not go hey son thats the neighbourhood watch captain and no one of them people seem to mention hearing Zimmerman say I am neighbourhood watch and the people even the right wing lot are turning up now don't even say oh yes we knew zimmerman was the neighbourhood watch captain all very strange have to say that none of them thought oh our neighbourhood watch captain is having a problem we better go and give him a hand and then afterwards to oh our neighbourhood watch captain has a broken nose I better give him a tissue from my handbag.

Why not hand to hand combat I think his going to kill me anyway and his pointed the gun at me and i rush him.

no his father never said that it was some femal council woman said that she was told by the police that it was zimmerman and the police then told the same reporter that they never told her anything of the sort fact.

anon have you proof of that been a fact because maybe if you think its true and are so sure its actually factual. you should go on a prime time tv news programme and repeat it as fact and then the parents can sue you for every penny you ever make in your life if it is not true

I am always armed. Always. ----- I am never in the wrong place. Someone follows me I will find out why, I will put a stop to it. ---- If I run and that person follows they may follow me home, that cannot be allowed. Sheep run when frightened, men do not.

Under those circumstances, as an athlete you could break into a jog, and if the older fat guy does too, then you speed up and he will soon tire and give up the chase.

    I would say number 3.

I love how people still defend the dead gangbanger even in the face of logic.
