    All of the major tax preparation software makers include secure links when submitting returns electronically. They use Secure Transmission Control Protocol, the highest industry standards to safeguard your information. That is the "https:" link you'll see in the address bar, and the padlock or key icon at the bottom of your browser window indicates that the Secure Transmission Control Protocol is in effect.
