What are some good sides for Shrimp and Grits?

I'm big on Sunday dinners and want to serve shrimp and grits some time. I've never made these before, so I'm not sure what traditional sides or desserts go with them. All ideas welcomed!

    First of all...YUM! For a side I'd go with a light salad with a vinaigrette, nothing heavy. That'll balance out the shrimp and grits.

    That sounds really tasty..

    Most times I eat grits plain..

    But adding shredded cheddar cheese to grits(in the bowl)..is excellent..

    Preparing shrimp is tricky--you need to clean out the vein that runs along the back/

    it contains sand..

    ===

    Cook the shrimp(saute')..useing olive oil..

    ===

    Shrimp and Grits..

    with asparagus..adding shredded cheddar to top the hot grits/

    Also use freshly cracked black pepper--in your grits..

    (gee..I can smell buttery grits as I write this)..

    ===

    You might try fried ham slices and shrimp--with cooked grits..

    ..adding shredded cheddar cheese/

    Hot Cocoa topped with whipped cream.

    more shrimp and grits, sike. well since sng are pretty much made together so solid sides like seasoned corn on cob, aspearaus (spelling),green beans just things that aren't going to swim on the plate. anyway that's what i think. oh, and for dessert ice cream (simple yet still a winner) cuz you made shrimp and grits. go team you!!!

    I would serve a fresh spinach salad with a light balsamic vin. dressing topped with a little bit of very thinly sliced red onion, mandarin orange slices, bacon bits and walnuts. Now I want shrimp and grits!! Enjoy!

    maybe a fried green tomato-yum! Kale, asparagus. I would definitely do a veggie and not another starch or protein. Grits are filling.
