Have you read the Book of Mormon?
Since the Republican nomination for President is Mormon, and has apparently been heavily influenced by it, should you see what's actually written in the Book of Mormon?

That would not be a bad idea. People who have never opened a Book of Mormon are quick to say what it teaches even if they are not correct. The Book of Mormon teaches against Polygamy. Mormons believe that, like in the bible, polygamy should only be practiced by the few who are commanded to do so.
Mormons do no teach against the bible, but hold it in reverence. What the bible contains is priceless.
The Book of Mormon is a great book. It will bring you closer to God then any other and is more detailed in doctrine. The bible tells you that Jesus was baptized and atoned for our sins, The Book of Mormon explains in detail the atonement, why Christ needed to be baptized, who is eligible for baptism, why it is necessary, etc. The book of Mormon provides tons of information on such things as the need for opposition, the fall of Adam, law, the consequences of bad government, how to know truth, why faith is necessary, how pride destroys people and nations. the plan of salvation (the bible does not even offer a plan). It is largely a warning for our time.
It is free. You can read it here.

I've read it. The Book of Mormon is not where the real doctrine is. You have to read the Doctrine and Covenants to find out about the Law of Consecration and polygamy, and you have to read the Pearl of Great Price to find out that God was a man who lived on another planet near a star called Kolob.

Since he cannot issue religious mandates I don't think reading the Book of Mormon is necessary.

I have a copy of it but I've never been to interested in reading it.I read a few reviews on it and it seems like Joseph smith was just another false prophet thought I'm not trying to insult the religion. It's just hard to believe the Garden of Edan was in Missouri.

A Protestant Lutheran event I went to basically referred to it as a cult religion, especially because of its attacks on the traditional bible.
