Which breed of cat is more likely to get along with dogs?

I know most of it depends on how the cat, itself, was raised. But is there any breed that is more known to get along better with dogs than most breeds of cats?

It's not about the breed of the cat, it's more about the dogs. If the dogs are quiet and have basic obedience training, any breed of cat (other than a really high-strung one) will get along with the dogs with proper introductions. If the dogs are barky and allowed to pounce at the cat or otherwise chase - even in play - then NO breed of cat will get along with them. Then there are also known cat-aggressive breeds that should not have a cat brought into the house with them - Jack Russel Terriers and Huskies are two examples.

At my house we have 3 rag doll cats. They're very mild mannered, and don't mind being around other animals. It takes a lot for one of my dogs to make the cats mad. They'll jump on them and bite their ears, and the cats mostly play along with it or ignore it

It may be best getting a young cat if the dog is young or the other way round. Young animals that live with each other their whole life usually get along with each other

Any breed as long as they've been properly introduced following expert guidelines.

Source(s): Grew up with both cats, kittens, dogs and all of them got along fine together. In fact one of my childhood dogs nursed a litter of kittens after their mom was killed by a car. I was a child so blame my parents for that one.
