What was your opinion of the Time cover that recently came out?

I am for extended breastfeeding, but I thought it could have been done with more taste. I think instead of opening people's eyes to the whole idea, it really made a mockery of it.

A little much. I don't think it's right to say "are you mom enough?" in reference to AP. Not all moms feel led to practice AP to that extreme.

I'm all for extended breast feeding and doing what is best for your child, but I think this photo and cover were just all for shock value. Just my feelings.

I find it rather comical, then again I could care less about extended breastfeeding and don't think that makes anyone more of a "mom" than any other mom. I didn't read the article because I am not a Time subscriber but some of these attachment parents do think they are more "mom" than others....too funny because many come off as a little nutty (as the cover clearly displays).

I have nothing against breastfeeding. I breastfed 2 babies for as long as they let me. They both weaned themselves shortly after 1 yr.

I have to say that even if my kids breastfed until age 4, I would NEVER have posed like that, with that kind of look on my face, or expose my child's face. I always breastfed discretely. No need to be "in your face" about it, as natural as it is because defecating, having sex and picking your nose is also natural and we don't do that with an audience, do we?

The look on that woman's face screams feminist B!tc# "just try and say something to me!" that gives the rest of us women a bad name.

Was it a good choice for their cover? For the owners of Time magazine, absolutely! Because controversy sells. For women in general? No, this does not help women as a whole or breastfeeding women specifically. It only fuels the fire.

If we don't want men flashing their penises at children in our daycares, so lets not flash our boobs either. There is NOTHING wrong with a little discretion.

Well im not a big fan of breastfeeding pre-schoolers, but each their own I guess. I do think asking if youre mom enough, was in poor taste. Moms are already on each others throats over working vs sahm, co-sleeping or not, breastfeeding or not etc, implying someones not a mom enough if they dont do things a certain way is just wrong

It seemed way too fake. Maybe if the kid wasn't looking directly at the camera and the caption didn't say "are you mom enough", then I may understand it more. It just seems to cause more harm than good.

I am for extended breastfeeding but I am not okay with parents using their children to prove a point.

i agree with Trixie. breastfeeding an almost 4 year old says nothing about how much mom you are. I'm a single mom to a special needs 9 year old, and i take on full time work, therapies for my son, countless dr visits, medications, surgeries, specialists, as well as take care of the rest of my family. am i any more mom than any other mom? no. all parenting is hard. some people will see the photo and be offended, and honestly, it's not anyone else's place to tell another person how to raise their kid, but for the love, don't put yourself on the cover of time magazine with your almost 4 year old sucking on you. talk about it, but don't put a photo up. that kid will be 15 one day.

15 minutes of fame at the expense of her child. as someone said, pity that poor kid in middle school when his friends get their hands on that.

i have no problem with extended breastfeeding, either.

I thought the "are you mom enough" part was more offensive. Like mothers don't wrestle with that thought every single hour of their lives anyway.
