What is your best guess regarding the events that led to George Zimmerman shooting Trayvon Martin?

My best guess is that Zimmerman approached Martin but never identified himself as acting as a neighborhood watch. Martin was probably already spooked by Zimmerman following him, and thought he was a thug looking to rob him. Both acted in what they thought was self defense.

It is a tragedy that Trayvon Martin was killed. Had Zimmerman not been there, or if he had listened to the police and not followed Martin, no crime would have occurred. By the same token, had Martin not assaulted Zimmerman, no crime would have occurred.

I think the same thing. Zimmerman thought Trayvon was a "thug", and followed him. Trayvon felt threatened unaware the man pursuing him was part of the neighborhood watch.

The two confronted one another and Trayvon overpowered Zimmerman so Zimmerman shot him in the chest. I don't think Zimmerman followed him with the intent of murdering him, it was all just a misunderstanding.

But yes, I do think Trayvon's race did have something to do with it.

Zimmerman is 28 and his life and career are not on track. That indicates to me he is lazy or inept or both.

Zimmerman wants to be a cop and it sure appears he lacks the right stuff.

So he followed Trayvon Martin, he called 9-1-1, and he refused to stop following Trayvon Martin after being advised by the 9-1-1 operator to not follow Trayvon Martin.

Trayvon probably acted in self defense, Zimmerman never identified himself as Neighborhood Watch as if that would have mattered, and things got out of control.

So, I conclude Zimmerman is lazy (his life isn't going anywhere at age 28 and he is inept because he ignored the advice of trained law enforcement).

I do not think Zimmerman is guilty of murder. But he is guilty of voluntary manslaughter and prison is where he belongs.

It’s not often I agree with Harvard Law Professor Dershowitz, but with the release of the discovery info he has called for the DA to dismiss the 2nd degree charge, (Daily News)

Bring Manslaughter if the DA feels passion, but let’s not forget this is the same exact DA who got a 20 year prison sentence against Marisa Alexander (no arrest record) who fired a warning shot in the air, against her abusive husband or the fact the DA is seeking to prosecute as an adult seeking life in prison for a child who was 12 at the time of the incident

    Can we say zealot prosecutor?

It’s amazing everyone luvs to quote the 911 tapes but yet leave out parts of the tape: The 911 tape is 4 mins, if you take the 911 tapes and compare it to a map of the complex, in My opinion the DA has a problem with the time line

    911 Tapes:

    1. GZ spots TM by the clubhouse

    2. GZ follows TM in the car

    3. You can hear GZ getting out of the car

    4. You can hear GZ running after TM after he tells operator he is running

    5. 911 operator tells GZ to stop following

    6. GZ say yes

This part is the problem of the DA, if anyone actually listens to the whole 911 tape, it’s crystal clear that for the last 1 minute 15 seconds of the tape, GZ is not following TM, is not running, his voice is calm, not out of breath, is clearly speaking with the male 911 operator, giving and exchanging info, GZ even states he lost sight of TM

So the real question what was TM doing that 1 minute 15 seconds when GZ was not running, lost sight of TM? Then you add in the map of the complex, TM was in the back area of the town homes, about 100 yards from his father’s girlfriends home, a young 17 year old football player could easily travel 100 yards during the last 1 minute 15 seconds of the 911 tapes when GZ is speaking the operator

But the tragic shooting occurs not close to girlfriends home but only few yards into the back area closer to the mail box area then the girlfriend’s home why?

In my opinion: TM was upset, being banished to north Florida, having to stay at his father’s girlfriends home, far away from his friends, let’s not forget to a 17 year old this is probably the worst thing they could think off, thus was upset then this weird looking white guy was following him for no reason, decided to turn back to confront him, did not know he had a gun, that’s basic street knowledge 101, and things got out of hand a tragically a young man past away

The immunity hearing in front of a judge no jury will be the best insight if manslaughter is even on the table when or if this even gets to a jury

Your version of the story sounds accurate, but we can only speculate about what was said except for the dialog heard by Martin's girlfriend on her cell phone. It was not the police who instructed Zimmerman not to follow Martin, it was merely a dispatcher who neither had the authority or the training of a police officer.

According to the liberal news media, Trayvon was a sweet little clean-cut innocent boy skipping home with an iced tea and a bag of Skittles.

Zimmerman, a well known racist, was speeding through the neighborhood when he spotted a black dude who was clearly looking for a house to burglarize (he KNOWS this is what black dudes do when they're out at night..). He grabbed his gun, jumped out of the car, and shot poor sweet little Trayvon in cold blood.

And that's just how it went down..

  • Trayvon was a gang banger. Lots of people are unaware of this fact, so I feel it's important to say it. Trayvon attacked George, and George was just trying to be a good citizen. It is tragic that Trayvon died, but he was not as innocent as the media is painting him to be. He was in a gang, and making poor choices. He was out late at night, which scares a lot of people, like it probably did to George. I don't think there's really anyone to blame for Trayvon's death. Both acted in self defense as you said.

Zimmerman was wary of a gang banger (Trayvon), and Trayvon reacted in a poor way. The only choice Zimmerman had was to shoot Trayvon, in self defense. That's all there is to this story, so I really don't understand why it's so highly publicized. It is not a case that has anything to do with race. In case I'm the only one who noticed; Zimmerman is Mexican. Trayvon is colored. It's not a brutal attack of a racist white man; It's just two men trying to defend themselves, and it ended badly for both parties. That's all there is to it.

First of all, a 911 operator has as much clout as a fast food drive thru operator. Not listening to them doesn't mean anything. The fact is we don't know what happened, and Zimmerman will probably be not guilty and there will be rioting throughout the land at this grave injustice.

Trey was seen scoping out houses by walking between them (not on the sidewalk) after dark in a neighborhood he didn't live in.

George saw him, followed, and called 9-11.

    Trey attacked George.

    George fought back and won.

Its gone just as I suspected. Zimmerman's way. That's was the plan all along.

They had no intentions on deviating from that.
