i moved from n. cali. where i worked, lived and married. marriage 20 yrs.?

so, after the divorce. i sold my home and thought i will go back to family. i'm in a small midwest town with family. really, not the best move. now, how do you get to know or meet a man here? i certainly am not "hoity toity" or insultingg. i think i'm the most regular person/sincere. family members say i have to hang out in the bars to meet someone. can't wrap my mind around that.. so, what does a transplant do in the midwest to get a meaningful relationship? oooh no, no online dating sites. really, thanks all for any feedback. i appreciate. just trying to acclimate, and know the cultures.
