Actually depends on a few things such as how many children she has (a woman with 3 kids will receive more than a woman with a one child) and also her rent costs, whether she is working etc

Assuming a single mum has one child and isn't working then it would be as follows:

Child benefit - £20 a week (actually this is paid to the primary caregiver regardless of income)

    Child Tax Credits - £60

    Income Support - £50

Housing benefit - based on my own rent, she would receive £85

Council Tax benefit - another that depends because some councils allow you to pay over 12 months, mine you have to pay over 10 months. She would be enitled to a rebate for being the only adult, this reduces the bill by 25% so whatever 800 into 10 months is

Put it this way,I know a single mum of 3 (3 baby daddies, not a single one involved) and she is getting what my family gets in a week and my partner works his **** off

Source(s): It depends on a lot of things such as how many kids they h

Considering how many single moms from the UK come on here saying they don't have to work I would guess at least enough to live on.

Well it depends on the week as they get child benefit and child tax credits every week but income support is every fortnight. For parents with one child, the week without IS they will get around £80 and for the week with IS they will get around £210 (giving them nearly £600 every 4 weeks).

Child Benefit: for the first child you get around £20 per week and any other children you get around an additional £13 per week.

Child Tax credits: for the first child you get around £60 per week and for any other children you get around an additional £50 per week.

Income Support: for the first child you get around £70 per week and for any other children you get around an additional £60 per week.

    I hope this helps

If it's anything like the states, it depends on how many kids you have and how much you make for income, if any.
