Serious question to religious and non-religious people?

If a single religion was undeniably true, why do we have so many?

  • You seriously underestimate the inherent stupidity of the human mind. You can show someone undeniable evidence and still find them denying it.

    I leave you with a quote I once came across:

    "Civilization is the most uncivilized thing on earth. That is because it is made up of humans, and for all of our intelligence we have got to be the stupidest creatures on the planet."

    The common assumption many have that I also once had was that everyone would recognize the true religion if they saw it, that everyone wants it, and that everyone would agree to it. That is unfortunately not the case but that doesn't meant that the true religion can't be found by those who are seeking it in spirit and truth.

    the only "truth" i have come across is that nothing is undeniably true

    so in our quest to find this truth we inevitably make things up that give us security... and these things we make up give us comfort as we are inherently pathetic creatures who are weak and need love support and guidance from something higher than ourselves, we as a race love to dote, give praise, give thanks, but to what? ... we find this in religion, the comfort that our lives have purpose and that life on earth is not all we have

    we make these "truths" up according to our up-bringing and society, family and personal preferences. Hence there being so many religions, it is impossible to find one "truth" that is suitable to us all.... just like one government could never rule the world.... neither could one religion...

    i personally believe all religion has aspects of the 'truth' maybe ways to live our life found within Buddhism, and the humans inclination to "sin" in the Christian bible... but an all powerful being..... who knows :)

    because people will not believe the truth and dismiss it and create their own religion

    1 Timothy 4

    King James Version (KJV)

    4 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

    2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

    Just human being and great leaders to show the right path..they name the religions like political parties by some followers for their own benefits..as we know even great leaders can make mistakes in their views..

    The English language succeeds in referring to reality but there are thousands of other languages. Maybe we're wrong and we're all talking nonsense and imagine we can understand each other.

    either no religion is true which that is reasonable OR god created many religions to make people kill each other

    Because most people choose their own traditions, or they believe their own imaginations.

    The existence of wrong beliefs do not annul truth.

    God gets bored easily. This "Human race" plot line he's developed needs conflict in order to stay interesting or the ratings will plummet.

    Do you want to get canceled? Yeah, that's what I thought.
