Is there a test or something to tell if your cat is retarded?

I don't know of any test to see whether a cat is retarded. It is unlikely to be necessary as a retarded kitten would be unlikely to make it through kittenhood.If something of that sort is wrong with the kitten,it's on mother will kill it at birth.Should she fail to do so, either she or another cat will kill it before it is old enough to leave its mother. That's horrible ,but it's the way cats handle the situation. I'm glad that humans don't act like that.

More likely is that you cat is just a perfectly natural cat. Human speech probably just sounds like funny noises to a cat.So when you are talking to her/him your cat doesn't know that you are saying anything.

Cats are not retarded, ever. Some may have neurological damage but they are not retarded.

If your cat is white and has two diff. color eyes, it could be deaf. Make a noise and see if the cat turns its head to look. If not then a vet visit to confirm is next.

Yes, apparently it is the same test given to owner before being allowed to purchase said cat. Smiles...no the cat is not retarded, why would you think it would look at you unless you are holding food....cat class 101...;-)

Mine do that too. Know why? They're trapped inside and the birds land right outside in the bushes. They jump at the window to attack, but end up smacking their heads against the glass. Funniest damn thing to watch.

cats like staring our windows, they see small critters they probably dream about hunting. a lot of cats do this and i hear it actually can relieve stress (for the cat)

Has it occurred to you that maybe the cat is deaf? That would make YOU the retarded one.

Cats hunt , outside! They see birds and other small animals as pray... OR your cat is deaf and can't hear you... Bring your cat to the Vet!!
