Is George Zimmerman innocent ?
All the evidence seems to point to self defense. The man was only doing his job. I mean what good is community watch if they don't watch/investigate? I don't think it is good to glorify someones death but it is definitely not good to condemn an innocent man for trying to do the right thing to potentially protect the community.
@Shawn Robin First of all I was asking for your opinion not the opinions of one side of the case. Why didn't you include information for the other side of the case? I will do so for you.
It is not self defense? So Zimmerman allegedly beat the hell out of him self?
How did the confrontation happen if Trayvon was allegedly running away and why wasn't the bullet in his back?
In America all non felons have the right to bare arms. That is the only law we know was not broken for sure.
I'm sorry my friend but it is everyone's duty to participate in a neighborhood watch area if you live in that community.
4 other people say that was Zimmerman's voice calling for help. But who knows, I guess sometimes people cry out for help when they are allegedly beating the crap out of someone.
Have you ever punched a punching bag then grabbed hold of it and slammed it into the ground a few times. This doesn't show any injures and is very comparable to a human being (that's

He was NOT doing his job. Any man, woman or child can be a neighborhood watch volunteer. All you need to do is call the police with any suspicious activity you see in your community. That's the whole job. You don't follow or try to confront people. Zimmerman created a situation that led a 17 year old to believe that his life could be in danger. There is nothing heroic about that. That's called stupidity.
During Zimmerman's 4 minute 911 call he talked about how Trayvon is walking toward him and then
Trayvon was supposedly "checking him out" and then he suddenly he took off running away.
Why did Trayvon go from walking toward the stranger who was following him and then change his mind and run? I think Trayvon ran because he saw the gun. Zimmerman's jacket was open.
In high crime communities you make yourself look dangerous (e.g. possible killer or robber) when you are following a stranger. Appearances is everything. It's how people keep themselves protected. Zimmerman lived in that neighborhood and should have known how dangerous it made him look to follow a stranger.
It's easier for me to understand Trayvon's behavior than Zimmerman's. Trayvon thought Zimmerman may shoot him at any moment. And Zimmerman should have known better to follow him. I think Zimmerman should go to prison for his stupidity.
What it boils down to is this. If you have any experience living in a high crime neighborhood then you'll want justice for Trayvon. If you live in a safe neighborhood then you'll want to see Zimmerman go free because you don't understand why it is such a big deal to follow a stranger.
I do think this case sounds much more like manslaughter than murder though. Manslaughter is what they call it when you do something stupid (and should have known better) that results in someone being killed.
I grew up in a high crime neighborhood. I grew up having to be very aware of my surroundings especially at night. It's easier for me to understand Trayvon's fear and I have a harder time understanding Zimmerman's lack of street smarts especially since Zimmerman lived in that neighborhood for quite some time.
If you think he can't possibly be convicted of murder then this Texas case will be a big wake up call for you. The circumstances are similar to the Trayvon murder case.

BTW. I'm a white female and I'm not a liberal. I'm just telling how it is because I once lived in that type of neighborhood.

So now we use the mortician at a funeral home as an expert witness? What happen to the medical examiner who checked the body over and found injuries to Martin's knuckles? Why not just let the case run it's course. If this case comes to a verdict before the November election if he is found not guilty I would be almost will to bet Holder will bring Zimmerman up on Federal Civil Rights charges.

Yes, all the evidence indicates Zimmermans version of events were true. It was self defense. The charges against him is politically motivated in an attempt to appease a group of violent agitators. Hopefully, a jury will do the right thing and send him home.

I was not there to see what happened but from my understanding he called the police, they told George not to follow Trayvon but he did. He attacted him someone heard TRAYVON sreaming not george. He killed a child that was walking home with skittles and juice. So in my eyes he his very guilty.

Its yet another case somewhat like the South Africa one. Zimmerman did shoot the toddlers.Thats no longer disputed. Its his rationalization for taking pictures him which will settle on the case. there is in user-friendly terms his observe of direction,so the jury is going to ought to settle on in the event that they have faith his tale of being threatened. I for sure dont comprehend.

He has just been given bail of one million Dollars, so if that means anything there probably isnt going to be much evidence against him. But remember he IS guilty of shooting him,he admits to it. The court is going to have to decide if it was in self defence or not.

I don't know because I wasn't there. I didn't see who actually started the physical confrontation.

No he's not because what he did doesn't constitute self defence under Florida's self defence law:
"Dennis Baxley, a Republican state representative and co-author of the 2005 self-defense law, said Zimmerman negated his ability to claim immunity under the law by chasing Martin.
"This law is for innocent, law-abiding citizens who are under attack by a perpetrator," Baxley told The Huffington Post. "Anyone who is out pursuing and confronting people is not protected by this statute."
Former Republican State Sen. Durell Peadon, another co-author of the law, said Zimmerman "has no protection under my law."

Former Florida Republican Governor Jeb Bush concurs:
“This law does not apply to this particular circumstance. Stand your ground means stand your ground. It doesn’t mean chase after somebody who’s turned their back.”

Zimmerman wasn't doing his job. His job was approving mortgages.
He had no business playing cops & robbers in a residential neighbourhood with a loaded gun:

"While police were initially sympathetic to Zimmerman's plight during the Feb. 29 interview, officers became increasingly hostile as Zimmerman failed to answer questions in precise detail. He answered at least half of investigators' questions by saying he didn't know or couldn't remember how things happened the night he shot Martin."

Doing the right thing never involves calling police to report someone who wasn't committing any crimes or breaking any laws that would justify calling police in the first place.
Doing the right thing never involves playing judge, jury & executioner on that person, either.

He was stood down by a superior officer. He was an out of control amateur cop wannabe.
