Is it really that hard to answer a question?
Every time I come to this section, I end up reporting 3x to 4x as much as I answer questions. Is it really that hard to simply answer a question? Why does it seem that people have so much more trouble doing so in this section more than any other? Also, this isn't just some one sided thing, people of multiple different faiths are doing this, although, from my observation, it seems to be coming mostly from the Christians and the "atheist." Between the two it appears to be about even.
Also, is it that hard to answer only when the question is addressed toward you? If the question addresses individuals of a particular faith and you don't belong to that faith, then you should not be answering unless you feel that it is appropriate in that circumstance (such as answering a question addressed toward Christians concerning the meaning of the word deity as I did prior to posting this). This is something else that I don't see occurring in other sections as much as it does in this one.
TL;DR: If the question doesn't address you, then shut up (except in rare circumstances). If you know the answer then answer; otherwise, shut up.
P.S.: I placed the word atheist in quotes because I was addressing the group that it is often misused to address. Far too many people have used the word atheist to mean individuals that reject all spiritual/supernatural concepts, when it really means individuals with a disbelief in god(s), that it is now the only well known word to refer to individuals in the aforementioned group.
Yes this is a rant. I will fully admit to that. However, it is also a legitimate question. Is it really that hard to answer a question directly? Also, while not directly stated, what makes it so hard for some people to answer questions directly?
From the answers I have received, it appears that it is difficult for a large portion of the community to directly answer questions. It also seems from the answers of one or two people that close-mindedness is the reason behind a few people's actions.

No it's not.
But that wall of text below your question isn't exactly following the rules of the forum either. You claim to report people who aren't abiding by the rules in the middle of a rant.

Technically "addressing questions" isn't part of the spirit of Y!A, just like asking questions you "know the answer too" are not. The point here is that while you get to choose the question you ask, you do not get to choose who answers.
Generally speaking there really is not a need to report any answer or question, unless they are pushing the limits of PG-13, hate speech, spamming or not asking a question.
I suggest "lurking" in R&S and getting a good feel for how it works, before you try to change it.

It's not hard, but if you don't like the way things are addressed here and you insist on reporting people, perhaps there is another forum that might suit you better

Agree. I always address mine - Christians: and always get most if not all my answers from atheists.
