Sorry I'm a girl, but sometimes a little comfortable silence like that between a guy and a girl who like each other can be refreshing. There was something I read about how when a couple can have a "comfortable silence" -- where it is not awkward at all, just the two simply enjoying the quiet together, basking in each other's quiet company -- that's always a good sign. It's refreshing to know that you can be comfortable with him without either of you having to say a word, just be. This sometimes happens with my boyfriend of 2yrs when we may have run out of things to say, and it's just a lovely feeling, I think.
