A good question. I always wonder about people who bathe their dogs so often; doesn't seem to be many good reasons to do this unless the dog is very dirty as it washes away healthy oils AND the Frontlline!
I've used Frontline Plus on my dog every month for the two years since I adopted her, in Central Florida, and I've never had a problem. And, she runs off leash in an open field three times a day. Either I've been extremely fortunate, or the Frontline Plus is working well with her.
Since I've heard complaints about it as well, I can only assume that it works better on some dogs than others..

Even if you used Frontline correctly, chances are your dog still would have had fleas. Frontline has a HIGH failure rate.
Get some real medication that is guaranteed to work.
Advantix
Comfortis
Revolution
Triflexis.
When I apply medication, I part my dogs hair in four places. Between the shoulder blades, the middle of the back, the small of the back and the base of the tail. I then apply an EVEN amount of medication to each area, until the tube of flea medication is fully dispensed. Do not use the medication unevenly in one area or it won't work effectively. Make sure you put the flea medication on the dogs SKIN, not fur.
