What do you feed your cat and why?
I've become a little obsessive about cat nutrition lately, and I think I've found what I like, but I always feel like there's more I could/should be doing for my cat's health. So I'd like to hear from other cat owners. What do you feed your cat, and why did you choose it?

I feed wet food primarily and a good quality dry food that doesn't have corn or wheat in it.
They (I have 2 adult females) eat about 2-3 cans of wet food a day plus some of the dry food crunchies.
I used to be a big proponent of dry food, thinking cats were like dogs; needing dry food to keep teeth clean.
Then I watched a family cat die a horrible death from kidney disease. Shortly after that, someone else asked the same question and one of the answers included a bunch of links to WHY a cat should be eating wet food and why kidney disease is a number 1 killer among domesticated cats.
You can bet after reading that, I got busy switching my girls to canned. One of them was weaned from her mother to canned food.
I have NEVER had any problems like diarrhea from it(lots of folks complain about that) or anything else.
From what I have read, even the cheapest wet cat food is better than the most expensive dry food and the fewer carbs in the food the better as cats have trouble digesting carbohydrates which causes the crystals that form in their kidneys.

I use canned food because it is moist and gives cats the moisture they need. Dry food is very bad as it has more carbs and not the moisture they need. I use the brand Before Grain because it's 96% meat. Cats are carnivores and need to have mostly meat in their diet. I also don't use the two fish varieties of this brand as fish is not good for kitties.

I feed my cats Iams Original and occasionally tuna or baked chicken. The Iams because one of my cats has a very sensitive stomach and she throws up almost anything else except tuna and chicken.

I feed my Savannah cat, shrimp, raw or cooked fish, AND finally the best thing to feed your cat as a treat is asparagus.

Grain free canned food, with a little snack of grain free dry once in awhile.

I love blue buffalo kitten, it is grain free with no by-product. I used to have them on purina kitten chow but they always had diahrea and constant infections.
