Does anyone have a recipe for German cucumber hotdish?

We have an excess of cucumbers in our garden. A few years ago I made a casserole with a name like "German cucumber hotdish." It had some kind of meat in it, and it tasted good. If you have that recipe or one similar to it, I'd appreciate your sharing it.

    Cucumber German Hot Dish

4 large cucumbers, peeled and sliced 1/4 inch thick

1 large onion, sliced 1/4 inch thick

1 can tomatoes, crushed, or 3 fresh tomatoes, seeded and chopped small

2 lbs. sausage (any kind --bratwurst, smoked sausage, kielbasa, Italian sausage. etc.)

    8 oz. sour cream

    Salt & pepper to taste

Peel cucumbers, slice about 1/4 inch thick. Put in large skillet, slice onion. Add to cucumbers. Add tomatoes. Cook until cucumbers are tender. Cook sausage, and drain on paper towels. Slice into 1-inch pieces, if desired. Add to mixture, also add sour cream.

Cook just long enough to heat sour cream, 2 or 3 minutes. Serve with corn muffins.

    6 servings.
