How do I confront this issue without causing problems?

My cousin stopped to visit. She's a young mother who is somewhat wild and not yet willing to settle down. She seems to feel trapped by motherhood and is always seeking a babysitter or someone to take her kids so she is free. Anyway, while here her baby( 18 months) got fussy. She took her outside and came back in without her. She put her in the car!!! Left her in her seat!!! To cry herself to sleep!!!! The car was parked in a graded driveway facing a steep hill!!! This was after dark but still. She came in the house, sat down, and wanted to watch a movie. Leaving her baby out in the car!!!! I went and sat on my porch so I could hear the baby and she stayed in the house like it was no big deal. How do I tell her about this? These poor kids!!!! I know this is child neglect, I just don't know what to do!!!!

    Problems are inevitable.

Call social services, even young mothers are not that stupid.

"The car was parked in a graded driveway facing a steep hill!!!"

And? Cars do have brakes, it's incredibly unlikely that it would roll down the hill.

Why don't you try and help her rather than judging her? Why not show her how to settle her baby properly, how to calm the child, and spend proper time with it?

You have no idea how stressed she is, or how much she needs some peace and quiet.

Leaving a baby in the car is not right, but putting a child in care because the mum needs some support isn't right either.

Call child protective services and report her. Tell them about the incident and tell them you are afraid for the children. They will have to check her out. Where it goes from there depends on what they find. Put yourself out there to take the children if they are removed from her home as well.

It might cause problems but you can't do anything without causing problems. Can you live with that?

A lot of children die from being in the car and also her child could get taken away. If she is really putting the child in danger call CPS. She doesn't deserve to have this child

there is merely no longer an excellent purchase you may do except clarify to them what you stated to us. merely tell them that you have not got any plans on transferring in with your brother or maybe transferring to Connecticut. truly, it truly is all you may do. they are going to both comprehend, or they received't comprehend Very unusual predicament.
