Why does my cat do this after I shower?
Every night after I get out of the shower, I sit on my bed wrapped in a towel and wait for my hair to dry a little before I get dressed. My two year old cat Piper always jumps up next to me and licks all the water off my arms, shoulders and neck. Then she rubs her face and tail up against my arms and back. She stands on my lap and demands that I pet her, rubbing her face up against mine and kneading her paws on me. Then after I'm all dry, she just flops down next to me and falls asleep or walks away. My younger cat Ellie never does this. So why does Piper do that?

I have one male cat who loves my wet towel. He literally will jump on my head trying to get the thing off my head, his back paws will be on my shoulders and front paws around my head while he bites the towel off. He will also pull the towel from the door rack when I hang it back up. Ive never had a cat do that either and I have had a few. My girl cat never did that. The boy also gets into everything opening up drawers and doors that I have to use child locks.
Cats are just all different

I have a cat that hides behind the toilet, and while you are in the shower, he waits for you to be right in the middle of washing your hair, to stand at your feet and meow at you for blocking the spray. He is always jumping in the shower with everyone. Its never fun having to dry the cat off in the mornings when your running late for work.

Licking behaviors for cats mean many different things to their human counterparts. I'm sure they have their own meanings but to us, it's what we perceive.
This is a grooming behavior often stimulated by the need to be close, social value (one cat grooming another), or sharing scents for showing affection.
When you're all clean after your shower, I would assume Piper is saying "I know you, and to make sure, let's get you acquainted with the pack shall we"... thus familiarizing your bond with her and making sure you are a friend. Not to mention showing you her way of saying "I know you and like you very much!!!" Your younger cat Ellie is all new to this and depending on his/her personality later on he/she may or may not do this.
I wish my cats did this with me, but I would have to say this has to do with the personality and desire of that cat that wants to share this with you. You are a lucky pet/friend, parent!!!

Animals can be " weird" I have several cats that live in my barn and the oldest ( male) will make it a point each morning to be the first to meet me. He will even go as far as to threaten the younger cats I think he displays his dominance and then in a sense shows the others that he is chief by rubbing himself and his scent on my pants leg " marking his territory" do to speak... maybe your cat is doing that or could possibly just be " grooming" you to show its affection?

Cats have different quirks. If the cat rubs on you after cleaning I would guess she is re-scenting you. Piper owns you and she doesn't want you going out in the world without her scent.

nicely, do no longer placed your cat in the bathe whilst the water's working, stupid! My cat loves the bathe... she comes working each and every time it gets became on and she or he chases the water drops from outdoors the door, then licks the bathe floor whilst i'm accomplished showering. My different cat I used to have HATED water of any style. would not come close to the bathing room whilst somebody became in the bathe.

Some cats have weird quirks. I know my cat loves water and will like it off of any surface (including water condensed on the outside of glasses). Maybe your cat has a similar love?

I think it's just her personality. Nothing is wrong with the cat. Not at all!

One of my cats loves water for some reason, but doesn't like to swim, lol. He wants to be petted with wet hands and will dip his paw in water and lick it and will lick you if you have water on you. I dunno why!
