Opinions on Scottish Fold cats?
I'm thinking of getting a Scottish fold kitten maybe sometime soon in the future. But I was just curious (yes I'm doing my own research as well), to see what actual owners have to say about them. If you own/have owned a Scottish fold, what can you say about them, are they friendly cats, do they get along with other cats, how smart are they, prone to any health problems, ...etc.
Thanks!

I love scottish fold cats! I think they are very cute and sweet. http://animal.discovery.com/breedselector/catprofi... There is a link to a website with very reliable information about the scottish fold breed history, as well as health information. When selecting a kitten, go to a reliable breeder that you know and trust. No matter what, if you don't trust them don't get a kitten from them.

They are bred with British Shorthairs or American Shorthairs and are a more laid back cat. The only thing you need to check is that both parents are NOT folded ear - because that is a lethal gene that can kill or deform the kittens (mainly affecting the tail which becomes immobile and the cat ends up not being able to eliminate.

You ask the breeder what's good and bad. Most of the medical conditions have been bred out of them, they've been fairly healthy cats in the past 30 years.
The cat itself will be an individual and may vary greatly from the norm, so there is no overall thing that can be said about them.
