Name of movie about man trapped in ghostly hotel room?
Probably around 8-10 years ago there was a movie about a man who checks into a hotel and discovers the door won't open. If I remember correctly, later on it is bricked off. He tries many ways to escape. At times we aren't sure this isn't some drug-induced problem of his imagination. He calls his girlfriend and she in turn calls the police. Next time they speak, she tells him the police are in his room, but it is as if they are in another dimension.
What is the name of this film? I tried IMDB but couldn't find it.
The name of the movie was something like "Room 615", but even with that (and checking for actors like Johnny Depp or John Cusack, one of whom I thought was in the movie, still I could not find it)
No, this was a mainstream Hollywood movie. I thought Samuel L. Jackson played a role. I recalled someone like John Cusack in the lead role. Odd, that I can't locate it. But it was definitely called something like "Room ...(number) ...... "
Aha! yes, this is the one: 1408. I don't know why I didn't see it on IMDB. I even remembered the actors and the fact that a number was prominent in the title. Didn't remember that the number was the sole title. Good job people! Very fast!

Offhand all I can think of is "1408" but that was 2007. Is it older than that? And if so, do you know the approximate year?
