It's not talking to yourself that's the problem. The problem is that you've developed a bad habit over the years where talking negatively to yourself has become normal. All of us have an inner dialogue with ourselves, but the only way we can change it is to become conscious of it.
It's also been said that it takes approximately 90 days to form a new habit. So if this is something you're serious about changing. I would do the following:
1) Become conscious of when this is happening and write down what it is you're saying to your self. Write it down on a notepad.
2) By the end of each day, look at the things you've said and reframe all of them into positive ones. E.g "I feel like a loser" - Reframed - "I'm only human and losing is part of my growth and will become a winner in time"
3) Practice stopping your inner dialogue half way and consciously change it to a positive.
4) Keep doing this for 90 days.
Eventually, you will start noticing your inner dialogue change and will start doing this subconsciously.
Hope this helps.
Good luck :)

set yourself a goal like 'not talking to yourself for a week' (it doesnt have to be a week, it can even be a day.). and if you achieve that, reward yourself. then keep doing that and gradually make that week into two weeks then three weeks etc. If you dont achieve it then just try try again.
