Is most all brands of dog food bad? My dogs won't eat any of it!?

I have tried puppy chow, dog chow, gravy train, kibbles n bits, dollar general brand (which they liked for 1 bag). Is it that dog food is bad now like human food is?? I can't buy expensive food. I put the bad food out anyway, they eat it if they're hungry enough. We can't give them left overs, we need that for ourselves.

Update:

there are about 3 or 4 more brands we have tried, can't think of the names. Can't afford can/wet food either.

Update 2:

thanks for the help but can't afford that food.

Corn is bad for your dog. He cannot digest it, it is just a filler. Pedigree is actually one of the worst dog foods. An affordable option is Whole Foods brand 365 Dog Food, not the greatest either, but waaayy better than pedigree because 365 does not contain by-products, is human-grade and holistic.

What about Nutro Max. It contains no chicken by-products, no ground corn and no artificial colours, preservatives or flavours.

Because it is made of quality ingredients, you can feed less of it because your dog will be getting more nutritional value out of less food. That said it is still an accessible, quality food for pet owners with smaller budgets.

    Hope that helps,

No not all. Have you tried devon meat ? Thats what we feed our younger dogs, We also feed them dog mince, its about the same price as a normal mince. Its small. And cheap so iots easy to cut up and clean. We also pop into wollworths and get there dog roll. We get the purple roll. The chicken one because my dogs are fussie buggers and they dont like anything else but that brand. We feed our big dog that you should try it. But if you have a younger or smaller dog i would reccomand devon meat or doggie mince :)

Just buy the best you can afford. If the dogs get hungry enough they will eat it. And NO people food! It creates finicky eaters.

Just keep trying different things. read the ingredients. Look for something with real meat as the first ingredient.
