What does this quote mean from The Exorcist?
From The Exorcist, what does the quote mean when the demon within Regan turns to the mother, Chris, and says: "Do you know what she did? Your canting daughter!"
Woops, mistake haha. Still, what does she mean?

Haha i knew this was going to be the quote you were talking about. I think it's just the demon goading Regan's mother, the 'C-word' is considered pretty offensive, I imagine more so back then. But like others said i think he/it was alluding to the 'crucifix scene'.

Wow, it's been a while, but I think you're wrong. The "a" in "canting" was a "u".
If you remember, the demon made her masturbate with the crucifix...

Cúnting, is a kind of English slur. Reagan, not Regan, accused the butler of being a former Nazi in hiding, and she urinated on the floor, etc.

"C*nting daughter"- Swear words were once more offensive than the widespread child sex-abuse and cover-up that occurred within the catholic church. And all other religions too, of course.
