Storms come for many reason seldom because of act of one human, but many humans if it be the wrath of God. However storms can also be part of nature and nothing to do with act of God. So what one has to do is examine their own life and decide how this storm effects them. Was their sin reflection of what befelled them, was in it just something as humans we got to go through, or is it a time to reach out in love to others and learn to receive from others.

If the sun shines you could say it was an act of god.
If a super comes and kills a billion people you could say it is an act of god.
If you open a fortune cookie and it has two pieces of paper in it you could say that it was an act of god.
In other words - calling something an act of god tells you nothing.

No, it is just a proof of your ignorance of how the natural world works. Earthquakes occur because of the buildup of tension between moving plates, when the tension is released an earthquake occurs.
