Pantry moths...please help!?
I've started having them in october. I cleaned the whole house especialy the kitchen/pantry, put lavender everywhere, got rid of a whole lot of food (I had only cans left!) ... Since then, I've been extra cautious. Every thing is in a tupperware.
I've seen no moths for weeks. And then bam, one per week or so. What's up?
They have no food, so where do they come from?
Also, I always seem to see them the day after I've slept at my boyfriend's... ???

eggs are hatching; remain diligent, put out pest strips and spray them.

A few months ago I heard a segment on a handy man radio show that addressed this. It said that in addition to the cleaning and bleaching and putting things in airtight containers you should freeze each and every container of dry food for 24 hours or more. Apparently the larvae can't survive being frozen, so if the moths are coming from any of the food, that will solve the problem. You should also routinely put dry foods in the freezer before putting them into the pantry.
Best of luck.

terminix told me to wash everything in a mild bleach solution, then let dry before replacing the food. Always freeze pasta etc for at least a week before placing it in the pantry. They are incredibly hard to get rid of, heavy zip loc bags and tupperware (not fake rubbermaid, but the real thing) is the only thing that keeps them out (they can even crawl up the screws on a mason jar lid!).
