I'm 24. Why do I suddenly have more acne than ever?
I never had much acne when I was a teenager. I'm 24 now, and for the last couple of months I've been breaking out a lot more than I ever did. Does anyone know what possible causes could be?

for females, its different, you may had experienced with acne before in your teen years, welp, here it comes again. the womens body goes into multiple hormonal changes throughout their lifes. teens, and intro into adulthood is the two main spots. all or most females who had acne before will have it again around the age of 20-25. take measures to try and reduce it as your body transition out of the change.
1. wash and avoid scratching the face
2. avoid late night snacking
3. avoid sweets, or excessive amount of sweets.
4. try not to stress out so much (or having that red face feeling)
5. avoid sweating, ive noticed that sweating could clot up the pores and cause acne.
6. learn some deep breathing exercises, it really clams the body down whenever youre mad or feeling any extreme feeling like rage, anger, and etc.
7. keep the face clean, and avoid it being oily.
good luck, my sister are having their epidemic as well

The other answers are correct, so I'm not going to say anything about the possible causes.
I just wanted to say that I took Accutane before and it worked very well for me. I had to take a pill a day for roughly five months -- my acne on my face, shoulders, and back subsided and went away. You have to get an appointment with a dermatologist and see if you qualify for it; there are rather serious, but not likely, side effects of Accutane or Claravis (the acne prescription I was given -- it's basically Accutane, but just another name).
These side effects include depression, thoughts of suicide, and temperamental behavior. Very rarely, but still possible, it can be fatal.
I have been off of Accutane for more than a year now and all of my face, neck, and back is crystal clear.

Hormones and stress (they both seem to go hand in hand). Unfortunately for women it's not uncommon to suddenly develop acne after the teen years, even if you never had it much before because our hormones tend to fluctuate a lot--even into our forties. Totally unfair. See a derm because the sooner you start treating it the better (do not wait around for it to go away on its own).
A derm will most likely try to out you on retins and maybe A topical disinfectant but if youre getting cystic acne, hormonal treatments like birth control and spiro (and yes, even accutane) can be really effective but they take months and months to work (takes for freaking ever to get your hormones settled--even accutane is faster), so if you're getting inflammatory acne ask for antibiotics. They will kick your acne's ***.

Niacinamide pads work on adult acne. Niacinamide face cleansing pads are an effective and simple way to keep acne away. Just place a pad on the pimple and watch it fade away. Lavender Oil helps prevent skin drying. Niacinamide also helps diminish skin-hyperpigmentation (acne scars)
Niacinamide pads are also known as Vitamin B3 pads or Nicotinamide pads. Works on body acne too.
Give them a try and you will be pleasantly surprised.
