Should the government put more restrictions on gun ownership?

NO.
They should try Enforcing the already 9000 laws about gun ownership on the books first.
How do we know those laws don't work when the Government fails to enforce them?
Why do they think that 26 MORE laws will do the trick and solve everything?
Really? We pay these clowns $174,000/year and this is how they think?
And we complain about Corporate Compensation being too much.

They don't have the constitutional right to restrict gun ownership and instead should require it. A well armed population has far less problems with all kinds of crimes including gun crimes. With all the terrorism in Israel no one tries to kill people with guns. Why? They wouldn't live long enough to kill many because everyone there knows how to use a gun.

Making something against the law will not always stop it.. examples.. War on drugs,Drunk driving!!. If guns were ever against the law than only the bad guys would have them..
I also feel schools should have guards
We could use the money we give to countries that hate us,our children are more important!!
Having a gun will not help all the time but being defenseless will never help..

Can you ask the bad guy to wait while I call 911???

Isn't it better to have a gun and not need it than to need it and not have it!!
A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again."

I think they should enforce the laws we already have first! Take the have you ever been adjudicated question on the form regarding mental problems. Since a lot of jurisdictions report only criminal records, cases that involve mental illness don't get reported. So if a person that spent five years institutionalized tries to buy a gun. His record is clean. He or she can lie, and get by! If we enforced what we already have, it would help one heck of a lot.

Why do you only want to restrict the freedoms guaranteed by the 2nd amendment? How about all the others? Why is it that so many liberals are so free with limiting rights and ignoring responsibilities?

Liberals do no longer hate weapons, they do exactly no longer see the factor of voters possessing attack rifles. BTW, do you be responsive to what in basic terms element Obama has accomplished with reference to gun regulations on condition that entering place of work? answer: you at the instant are allowed to take weapons into national parks. .....oh, i'm guessing you're nonetheless going shop unfold the lie that liberals desire to take your weapons away. attempt getting your advice from the rather politicians that say those issues rather i'd in keeping with suitable wing pundits "pay attention say" debts of what's being pronounced. you would be surprised to establish how plenty "advice" is fabricated via fox information and am radio. in case you care concerning the fact you will fact verify what you pay attention in the previous repeating on line and.embarrassing your self. The state governments have some room to do so, though they should tread lightly. The federal government, though, has no Constitutional authority to limit or regulate private ownership of anything, especially arms given the Second Amendment.

I really no longer care. I have so many guns and so much ammo I can shoot a box a day until 2050 and still have some left over.

Yes, and it has to be at the federal level and enforced across all the different states too.
Gun owners need to be licensed and to get the gun owner license they should need to pass a background check every 5 years. It should include character references as well as simple police record and mental health checks.

Maybe....but consider this...
restrictions based on things like mental health and personal character would likely get struck down in ever LIBERAL appeals court in the nation..
..the reason? allowing such "fuzzy" standards in state-licensing standards could then force the inclusions of those standards on any other state-licensing standard..
