What accommodations do you make for your dog when your away?
With my dog I try to bring him with me on trips like if we are camping or staying at a local hotel (brown and black outs happen often due to old telephone poles) but if he can come with me and my mom we would have the neighbor care for him and I leave them instructions on how to care for my cats and dog. I also leave the number of the vet and E-Vet in case. In some cases I have to make a bag for the dog if he has to be cared for away from him. He usually stayed with family members who had other dogs great for socialization skills.

Dogs are never out of our sight. They always go with when we travel. They've pooped in 23 states now and are none the worse for wear. The cats on the other hand I pay a friend or family member to stop in and feed,water and clean the litter boxes once a day.

Local kennel that houses US Customs dogs with instructions NOT to take it out of the kennel for any reason nor to interact with it. I have spent years training my dogs to perfection and do not want some minimum wage teen screwing that up or getting bitten

We have a few neighbors that are willing to come in and let her out twice a day and feed her when we are gone.
